107 hours perfect, Sudden Freeze

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 5:44 pm

I love this game. I have played 107 hours perfectly and traveled most of the map.*minor spoiler* I finally got to Sky Haven Temple and tried to open the blood seal. (Both NPCs are present)... The PS3 froze. This happened every time I reset and tried again. My save files have been steadily building in thousands of KB with no problems. I checked the save files and I am suddenly at exactly 10 MB. All prior saves up to this point are exactly 10 MB now, except one Auto Save (which I am terrified to lose). That one is still a couple thousand KB.

Is it safe for me to play the game without another patch - or - will I lose this character if I allow that Auto Save to be corrupted by the 10 MB glitch?
Does anyone know if I keep playing, I will lose this character forever?

I really love this game, as all Bethesda games, and don't want to lose the faith you guys have built with me as a loyal customer.
Thank you for trying to work on this stuff as quickly as possible.

10mb is not a "glitch". People just use that number to relate when their game started lagging. Congrats to you getting 107 hours in the game, I'm at 50 hours and the game is getting worst and worst each time I play it and I too hit the 10mb file size but my game has been acting up since I hit the 8mb (8,000kb) mark.

99 hours, 13 mb and the game has now become unplayable.

Utterly depressing :(

Ah, I see... I was under that impression because of the sudden game freeze. I'll try walking away from this mission in a prior save then. I still lag a bit, but no game freezes until now. It might have something to do with exploring the map, because my first couple thousand KB I stayed within a couple towns doing missions. Then I went to Riften, and the game started doing the lag thing every so often when I would play for an extended period of time.

I noticed that too, I hadn't even seen markeath or darthstar or the college place (you know what I mean) for the longest while, with each one I encountered the lag got worse.

That's exactly what I ended up having to do:
