Alduin disappointed me...

I do not know why Bethesda writers lack imagination...anyone of the scenarios you described would be better than what they used...

Thanks!

yeah the ending to the main quest in Oblivion was much better then this (Martin Septim sacrificing himself and smashing the Amulet of Kings to give up his body to allow Akatosh to manifest himself physically on nirn to do battle with Mehrunes Dagin in the form of The Avatar of Akatosh)

I have been waiting for Lorkhan's return for awhile....this was the perfect opportunity for them to bring back Lorkhan...and as the icing on the cake, had they used the scenario that the Dragonborn had to find a piece of or actually find Lorkhan's heart in a Dwemer ruin and used it to somehow gain or summon part of lorkhan's power to nirn to take care of Alduin, their DLC story would already have been made for them which is:

"The Dragonborn using the Heart of lorkhan would have the consequence of....bring back the Dwemer....the Dwemer disappeared because they were mucking around with the heart of Lorkahan.....it would have been perfect opportunity for a return of the Dwemer...

also, the Dark Brotherhood quest disaapointed me to....they need to move away from this Night mother nonsense...listeing to a dead corpse...who tells you to go kill people that has been dead for centuries...is just...blah.....the Night mother's body should have been destroyed at the End of the Quest line, and Astrid should have survived, and together a new chapter would turn in the Dark Brotherhood....moving the DB more to worshipping Sithis alone and removing the night mother from the equation...the Night Mother adds nothing...its just plain dumb and not even amuasing to listen to a corpse talk....Sithis is more then capable of speaking form the void himself, Lachance hears him.....This dead talking lady known as the night mother has just got to go....atleast the morag Tong had the Daedric Prince Mephala(who was not a dead corpse) telling them what to do....the Dark Brotherhood needs to get rid of the night Mother, and focus on Sithis and the brotherhood...the idea of a talking corpse being in charge is just......not even fun....atleast with Sithis he is the personification of evil, black, and darkness...the night mother is just a poser...IMO

Alduin was bit easy, after i used dragonrend to bring him down he was dead in 3 or 4 hits as i had a strong melee character, a summoned Dremora and the three heros of Sovngarde all battering him. It was a bit of an anti-climix.

For me, the better final battle was at the World Eater's Eyrie. That was a much harder fight as i had 3 or so dragons to deal with, hundredes of Drauger Deathlords roaming about Skuldafn Temple and a Dragon Priest.

I completely agree, It was a HUGE let down for all of the build up it had throughout the main quest.

The fight should have been different to the other dragon fights. The Dragoborn should have taken the form of an actual Dragon temporarily in order to do battle with Alduin - after all, you have the soul of a dragon and the body of a human right? Perhaps there should have been a way to assume your true form.

This guy beats Alduin in a matter of seconds....I felt bad for him, he was really pumped for the final showdown, the entire reason the Dragonborn exists, and then...oh...he's dead...that was easy...

Awww, thats a shame, I feel quite sorry for that guy, he was so enthusiastic, he seemed so excited then was like 'is that is?! I win-yay! The end'

Do you know what the saddest thing is? I've got a foot tall Alduin statue on my desk. Don't get me wrong I love you bethesda, and Skyrim is awesome. But it's strange they felt the alduin statue was appropriate when Alduin's interaction with the player is somewhat disappointing. I ran into him a few times and then had a few standard dragon fights with him. I wish he was more fleshed out, more background info, maybe actually getting to speak with him. Just wanted more Alduin in the game I guess...

About that statue , I felt the base was kinda cheap and lightweight so I unscrewed the bottom and filled it with sand . Now it's a nice solid piece .
