Any Interesting LOOKING Armor Combinations?

Carved Nordic with an Ancient Nord Helmet. I picked one up accidentally (Nord Helmet) and out of the blue put it on with my Carved Nordic set.

Btw, Carved Nordic is the best armor in entire game.

You're quite right. It's a wonderful armor. Not that complicated as ebony, nor as fantastic as daedric. Looks like possible and is awesome in the fact it looks great with many different sets.

For my armored pyromancer mage, I went with Bonemold hands and feet(yellowish "fire" hue), Morag Tong body(looks almost burnt, sort of like lava rock) and Azhidaal's mask. Feels pretty good.

I wear fur armor with the fur-lined boots (boots that go with the noble clothes set) because the clipping looks good. The fur armor's leggings show through giving the boots a furrier, wrapped look. Its especially better than the regular fur boots from the armor set.

In addition, I've found that the fur on the Wolf guantlets blends in with the look rather well, and from an RP standpoint makes sense if you've completed the Campanions' questline. To top it all off, to get that Conan-esque feel to the whole thing, I wear the Ancient Nord Helm. In most light the metal's colorization on the helm does not clash with the Wolf guantlets, but no, they don't technically match. Its only really annoying in heavy firelight or the more orangey environments, if I remember correctly. In daylight and dungeon lighting they match fairly well. The Stormcloak officer boots are a good match for the set if you are looking for meatier footwear, by the way.

The only problem is, I'd like to find a piece of more traditional body armor to use on occasions where my character goes out purposefully to do battle. The ebony armor makes the clash between the helm and guantlets apparent. Any one have suggestions?

Does the Savior's Hide provide good armor rating? I think it would, at least more than stock Iron armor, and better than the fur armor.

I personally like the Skaal gear (jacket, gauntlets and boots) with the Nordic Carved Helmet. It looks like it belongs with it. The color mismathc does bother me a bit through. If it was a bit browner, I would never take it off. Ever. Even for baths.

Just curious but has anybody used dragon aspect (all three words) with a full set of Dragon scale? kind of looks like the dragon aspect is based off of that armor set, just wondering how it fits over that set?

It does look like its based off of it, but there are some minor differences. The curiass looks great IMO with some Aspect details sticking out around the collar bone and pauldron area. The helmet has the most differences (in a good way). The horns on the top/ back of the head are a bit longer and more spindly. The Aspect armor has a point in the front of the helmet (forehead area) where the Dragon Scale does not. It looks like it might be the top of the nose, upper mouth area of a dragon face This makes it look sooooooo epicI can only look at it for a few seconds at a time.

It also looks quite good on dragonplate, with a few details different as well. It probably was thought to suit both sets. Note I was wearing a daedric helmet though.

As I said in another thread, most black things go nice with nordic carved armor due to its black leather. Specially in helmets, as I haven't found gloves or boots that match it too well. That aside, I gave Teldryn Sero, the spellsword for hire, a morag tong helmet with everything else stalhrim. Little wierd in the beggining, but the scarf suits it quite nice. That aside I tried to find armor that matched with Stalhrim. Most acomplished set is glass, and that is a different tone... With stalhrim armor and the rest glass (except for shield which can be any of those two) you get an interesting look, but it still doesn't convince me.

Also, I've seen bonemold helmet with dwarven armor usually looks nice, as tones are similar under most lights. Red vampire armor or vampire lord armor with light chitin armor for the rest makes good look, specially because of the red. Wíth the black pair or vampire lord armor (again) looks nice with morag tong. Basically it's the same, but more sinister-feeling. I'll watch out for anything else. And any advice for stalhrim would be appreciated.

There isn't any armor piece that comes to mind, but the Aetherial Crown is perfect

My Nord is wearing:

Ahzidal's Mask
Ahzidal's Armor
Nordic Carved Boots of Muffle (self-enchanted)
Orcish Gauntlets of Major Archery

For a piecemeal set, it looks nice.

I recall it going pretty nice with ebony armor. To make it even better, add dwarven boots and gauntlets and you have a nice armor set  And if you use shield, spellbreaker adds a nice feel. Suits it. Weapon-wise, I know Dawnbreaker matches spellbreaker and this gold-theme this particular armor set we have.

personal favorite at the moment

deathbrand chest
skaal gloves
skall boots
helm of yngol when i need it

using just hunting bow/iron arrows, still looking for the right melee weapon.
EDIT: nord longsword fits the best.

RP behind the character is the character was the dragonborn that fought Miraak and forced him into Herma-mora's realm. knowing he would be back she became a werewolf to gain immortalitly. over the years she has roamed skyrim and morrowind, but always stayed close to solsthiem awaiting for any hint of his return so they can finish the fight started so long ago. . .

its going well -Law

Arch mage robes, dragonplate gauntlets, dragonplate boots and konahrik. Looked fantastic for my magic oriented dragonborn character. Dragonscale can be used instead for a lighter look. Usually used dragonbone sword with a spell in the left hand.

I'll post a few other sets I've found that look nice:
Saviors hide, forsworn boots, fur bracers and stormcloak officer helmet.
Steel plate chest, boots, gauntlets with the closed imperial helm. Crossbow and Nordic battleaxe.
Vampire royal, shrouded hood, vampire gauntlets and boots. Harkons sword or the blades sword.
Vampire royal, zahkriisos mask with vampire gauntlets and boots.

Current favorite and what my char wears:

ancient nord helm
nordic briastplate
nordic gauntlets
nordic boots
shield of ysgramor
dragon bone sword
dragon bone bow and arrows

another combination is:

Stormcloak officer bear helm
Skall coat, gloves and boots
Hero Nord Sword & Banded Shield

another favorite is:

Skall Fur Hat
Fur armor long sleeve
Stormcloak Officer gloves
Fur boots
Hunters Bow (smithed to 700)
paired with dragonbone arrows
And a nice sharp dagger or axe

Stahlrim is nice but the blue is abit to bright for me. It does look good on Jordis , Lydia and Iona tho.
