The Empire are under control by the Aldmeri Dominion or in other words, Thalmor, the Empire are seemingly the "Bad guys" but they are just getting forced by the Thalmor do to things a normal Empire wouldn't do.

Stormcloaks are the rebels fighting to take control over Skyrim as they don't feel right what the Empire is doing(Thalmor made Mede ban the worship of Talos, the god of men.)

Thalmor are Elves set up in Valenwood who wish to destroy men and return to Godhood and like I said before, they are using the Empire as a puppet(You can't join these guys btw, at least I don't think you can)

No, they aren't allies, The only enemy Titus Mede couldn't defeat was the Thalmor, he banned the worship of Talos at the point of a Thalmor blade.

I think the Thalmor are actually going to be universal antagonists in the game (either faction fighting against them) So they may not be as strong as all that by the end.

crap...now I havn't a clue whether I should join/support the Empire or the Stormcloaks.

So the Thalmor want to kill all men, and they are basically controlling the empire. The Empire is technically allies with the Thalmor, but they are really their enemies. The Stormcloaks are against the empire, but they are men. So, the only way to save the men is to either 1. strengthen the empire to crush the Thalmor or 2. overthrow the Thalmor, and let the Empire pardon the worship of Talos, Is this correct? Because, if the Stormcloaks successfully revolt, then that makes both the Empire AND the Skyrim province weaker and vulnerable. So, shouldn't the Stormcloaks side with the Empire to overthrow the Thalmor first, then revolt later?

My apologies if I sound like a babbling idiot...I just had no clue this was happening in my virtual world. I have a lot of thinking to do now.
