Attention Mages of Solstheim! (Telvanni Robes)

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 10:43 am

My female mage has modeled a variety of clothes items trying to fit the look of the Telvanni robes and the one thing that goes perfectly is the Morag Tong boots and gauntlets. The darker chitin look matches the shoulder pads visible on the robes and they don't clip through the robes like some other clothing items I tried. I reckon the copper and onyx circlet would fit well, too but my mage is running without any sort of helm right now.

Sorry if this is obvious but it took me a while to get the right look and just thought I'd share, it being the season of good will and all. Merry Xmas!

Most of the more stylish looks I've found include cloth / robes for the main body with light armor gauntlets and boots. Pity it screws you as far as armor rating.

Too true. Still, I'm probably just going to smith the hell out of the boots and gauntlets to make up for it. I also sometimes wear the full cultist outfit. Kind of ironic after dealing with Miraak to dress as one of his followers...

The Temple Priest Hood (Can be obtained by killing the non-essential temple priest) also looks great with it. The blue of the hood really contrasts with the red of the Cloak/Mantle.

Yes it does. Looks COMPLETELY different on a female than on a male. Its not even the same robe.

They actually make us look FLAT, too.

Which is odd. They even made Miraak's robes to fit with our busts. For some reason, not the Telvanni.

I love the look, just not how it turns me into an androgynous mass.

I'm going for the no armor for mage armor perk so I went with this:

Cultist Boots (no armor rating)
Vanilla Gloves
Gold and Ruby Circlet

The red and gold match my vamp eyes quite nicely.

Of Course all of them are enchanted to my liking.

I still think Telvanni robes look awesome - but I have to admit I was COMPLETELY WRONG. Noticing the dark chitin bits of the robes made me think the Morag Tong were almost meant to go with it - but on closer inspection there's still clipping and worse, in 1st person, casting some spells makes part of your wrist vanish entirely. Oh well. Its a female character of mine that wears them by the way, and I think they look better in the female version.

It really would only suit a Dark/EVil kind of character, but Vampire Gauntlets don't clip, and actually offer decent Armor rating for being Light armor gloves. Evil/Dark mages look great with them though, and not clipping with Telvanni robes makes them look pretty snazzy.

My mages wear heavy armor on their feet and hands, sometimes head. I love the way Daederic gauntlets look in 1st person casting spells, long black metal claws and such. Heavy Chitin armor has some decent looking claws too.
