Unless you can find someone to suit you and marry you in that area, you may be stuck buying honeyside in Riftin. Which is my fav house. Small, open and affordable with enchant and potion tables/weapon racks etc.
Falkreath does not have a house you can buy sadly. But if your doing the DB quest line, you can stay there.

right, I was just curious if there was a shack close by with a sleep able bed and one safe container
Don't believe its a safe place to store stuff. BUT there is a really nice cabin up in the mountain side outside Falkreath. A beautiful young woman lives there. She'll teach you archery and what not. To bad you can't marry her cause I would and then live in that cabin. Has a nice view from there and hard to get to I might add.

cool, thanks! I will be checking that out.
and to who said anise's cabin that may be a great place as well and I enjoy the ppl in river wood.
It is unfortunate that there's no official housing available in Falkreath as it's one of the most beautiful areas in the game. Just love the pine forrest look and the sunrise over Lake Ilinalta is sublime. Ah well there's always mods, may have to build myself a lakeside cabin at some point.

Which is why I said it was unfortunate that there is no official housing, implying that it was a bad thing for console users. Take it up with Sony (and Microsoft for 360 users) if you're upset you can't use mods.
If you RP and its not in the nature of your character... but you could always break and enter into a home in Falkreath... kill the NPC Still wouldn't risk storing stuff in it though.

Careful with Anise's Cabin! The barrel next to the cuboard in the doorframe is NOT safe for storage. I learnt that the hard way... The rest is good though.
