Bethesda, Patch 1.2 did NOT fix the texture issue. At all.

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 4:08 am

I hope someone at Bethesda reads this, because the patch did NOT fix the texture issues.

Opening the Skills or Map menu still forces textures to resize, and when you exit, THEY DO NOT REVERT BACK. My Daedric Axe looks crisp and clean when I turn my Xbox on, but after I go through the menus, my Daedric Axe looks like it was drawn with a crayon.

Please. Fix. This.

This has been tested by myself numerous times, playing off the disc, and playing off my hard drive. IT STILL HAPPENS ON BOTH.

Edit

Just tried it on my Mage as well. My fist/arms look great when my Xbox is turned on, but when I open a menu, my arms and hands have ZERO DEFINITION of texture, just a mass of color with no visible lines for even the fingernails.

Sounds like the real issue is they just don't know what's wrong or if they do, they really don't have a way to fix it.

The least they could do is admit they have no clue what is causing this. Stop getting peoples hopes up for your broken game.

Funny. The game looks like poop to me when I turn it on. No re-scaling or anything. Tables, floors, snow, etc. all look like N64 (both on and off disc). :sadvaultboy:

Hmmm I've been playing 1.1 since release and haven't noticed that at all. I have seen textures fail to load, but only a handful of times in 70+ hours of play.

I plan on not upgrading until I hear that the 1.3 patch is safe

I have had no problems. I am playing a 360Slim reach edition from the disk and have no idea what you are talking about.

That's why it's called a bug, not everyone experiences it.

And then there are the ones who are and don't realize it.

I did have one issue. I was saving to a usbmu and the load times for everything were abysmal, so I moved all my saves to the hdd and the load times are shorter, like 1/8 of what they were.

Ok, I have taken these pictures to show what I am talking about.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/855/38396424476497864491108.jpg/ is a picture I took of my Iron Armor when I turned my XboX ON, loaded up the save, and hadn't gone into any menus yet. Notice the fraying of the cloth around the edge of the cut off sleeve, the dents in the armor, the shadows on the color. All of those are present. The resolution is normal size.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/834/39323224476512264851108.jpg/ is a picture taken AFTER I opened a menu, exited, and you can OBVIOUSLY tell very easily that the resolutions of the texture is NOT the same, it is MUCH LOWER. The fraying of the edge is completely gone, the dents in the armor are non existent, and the shadowing on the color are rubbed together. THe resolution is MUCh lower.

And this was taken on my Android phone. Imagine how it looks in person on my flat screen HD screen. It looks atrocious.

If you can't see the difference, put the images side by side and it becomes absurdly apparent.

That pretty much sums it up right there. I was disappointed with the PS3 patch and all of the issues it's causing and now I'm not looking forward to updating with this patch on the Xbox 360. This is all very disheartening.

More before and after pictures to PROVE that this is STILL AN ISSUE. This is so noticeable that it's almost absurd.

If you can't see that difference, you are literally blind.

And this is playing off the DISC, not even installed. And AFTER Patch 1.2 has been applied.

Same setup, and i've been very fortunate not to have any major issues (87 hours in). I have occasional texture drops, and the game has frozen 3 times (each time after a 5+ hour session), but nothing huge.

I was going to do the same thing with comparison pictures, but you nailed it. So how can Bethesda post just a couple hours ago about 1.2 fixing textures....do they NOT KNOW?

Hate to be the one to suggest this but did you start a new game? It possibly could be to do with that, I know it does happen sometimes with a patch that you have to restart a game to fix it... Not sure now, just throwing it out there.

I've been patiently waiting for this u[date so I could get back to playing Skyrim without having to cringe at the poor graphics...I was greatly disappointed that nothing was resolved. PLEASE, Bethesda, fix this before I consider trading Skyrim in for something else.

Rofl. The reason I am laughing so hard is that my game has looked like the "after" version since the beginning. I just thought it was supposed to look like that. I do remember one time thinking things looked kind of fuzzy but I just played on. I also only found out about the weapon rack bug from these forums. Mine has never worked and again I did not even realize it was supposed to. I am enjoying this game still but it makes me wonder what else is broken in my game. and no way am I loading the patch. I will just continue to ignore the graphic issues.

The patch fixed the textures and the game is running fine for me.

Some of you must own a different version of Skyrim to me.
