Can Bosmer get permanent animal companions?

Can Bosmer get permanent animal companions? Or is it just the old deal from past games where you can cast a charm spell on them once a day and they fight for you for 30 seconds?

Anyone can, so long as the animal is a dog.

I imagine that animal companions of other kinds will be modded in very quickly.

I hate dogs. Why developers always assume people like dogs as companions?!?

Give me a monkey, a feral cat, a stupid donkey but not a *$%!& dog! :brokencomputer:

Well because the dogs are the only companions man have for thousand of years :) To be honest I am quite happy to have a dog companion for a change. It is strange, but only a few games offer a dog, most of them give bears, wolves, lizards, but not a simple dog, to role play a hunter, not some fantasy beast master.

The Wild Hunt isn't really a temporary thing, if I recall correctly.

I don't like how it was just a low level spell, hopefully it's better this time around.

This generation Fable (II & III), Dragon Age (origins & 2) and Fallout (3 & NV) all had a dog as animal companion, so I wouldnt say this is a first time.

For Elder Scrolls this is perhaps the first time, but then again they never had animal companions anyway.

I hope it is useful at higher levels, as well as all of the racial abilities.

It should honestly be until the creature dies. I can't imagine even the strongest of animals lasting very long on your adventures.

Animal Companions are just meat shields really I mean they can't really do the stuff that humanoids can, like you can't send an animal to steal stuff or anything like that, kinda boring if you ask me with so many other ones to choose from. Not saying I wont have one I'm just saying its not a big deal if its just a dog.

Oh, I'm sure the human companions will be way more interesting for the most part. I just want to make a Bosmer who gets along with animals. Probably just going to get the stupid once a day spell where you shoot them with sparkly lasers and they leave you alone for 30 seconds. Oh well.
