Seeing as I'm fresh meat on the Bethesda forums I don't know if this has been mentioned often but the glitch concerning the guards in Markarth after completing 'The Forsworn Conspiracy' is a bit of a pickle. After the quest, the forsworn king states that all crimes committed during the escape are nullified and I can go about the city as I please.

Unfortunately that is not the case as the guards will chase me and want to send me to the mine again. I can't submit, I can't pay the bounty and I can't bribe. The only option is to fight or run away.

Does anyone know of a fix for this? I can't imagine it'll be fixed by 1.2.

The same thing is happening to many others, and I don't believe there is any fix once it starts happening. Unfortunately we have to wait for a patch that resolves this.

Same thing happens to me Im about ready to kill them all and see if it resets them.

My fix~

I got around this by killing Madanach "How about revenge!" since he deserved it anyway and all his Forsworn attacked me to begin with, and when i escaped, no guards attacked me, i was greeted by the Silverblood guy who thanked me and gave me all my stuff *plus quest items* and told me all charges were dropped on me, but the guards in the Shrine of Talos were still there and did the same thing. I killed the 3 guards in there, then paid the fine which was about 4k, no issues since~

There are other ways to fix it, but yeah, thats my way which was much less painful~

Got this glitch as well. Yeah this is a curious bug for sure. I think I am in a place were there is no real fix and Markarth will be a hostile place for me for the rest of my characters game. I did a really bad thing and tried to side with the Forsworn. So during the prison break I killed many guards but also managed to attack a few forsworn in the process (Thank you bow and arrows). So I am in a place were they are all hostile to me, Forsworn and Markarth gaurds alike, they all attack on sight. I cut my way through Markarth and killed every guard in the place including the Talos shrine, left and when I cam back same old story of conspiracy and murder with no way out. So I cut my way through again all the way to the Jarl and tried to kill him. But he won't die to my sword so I am completely stuck there. Really svcks, I have about 3 bugged out quests on this Character and its getting to the more hassle than it's worth place. Probably have to start a new character soon since this one is getting tired.
