Dark Elf Builds

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 3:49 am

Hello my fellow forumers, Frank here with yet another thread concerning everybody's either undyingly loved or unendingly hated race, the Dunmer. So.. the question is, what are your guys most suited and well fitting builds made for these guys. My own, he's a thief, but I'm quite interested in what you guys think fits their character and style. Take everyone's mind off of DLC and glitches for a change. So, have at it!

Well my Dunmer's build is a combat based class, a Dark Paladin, I have all the standard paladin skills (Heavy-Armour, One-Handed, Two-Handed, Block) but instead of Restoration I use destruction magic, also his Alignment is pure evil, his story is becoming champion of all the Daedric Deities and Destroying the Vigilant of Stendarr (or atleast crippling them). So, what do you think?

Mine is a Daedra worshipping refugee from Morrowind. He's loosely based on Tony Montana, Charles Manson and Tuco from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. He is collecting all the Daedric artifacts and Joined the Dark Brotherhood. He is a champion of the Dark Elves - liberating them from Ulfric's oppression at the same time as gaining the house in Windhelm.

His fighting style is "Sword and Ward" for the most part, and uses destruction for ranged attacks and Dual-wielding for close quarter combat. All in all, a great all rounder who can get in the faces of the toughest mages or bandits. He gets his back-up from Aranea, The priestess of Azura.

Perks are in Destruction, Restoration, 1-Handed, Light Armour, Sneak and Enchanting

My male Dunmer is a nightblade. One handed, illusion magic and sneak primarily. He will help the Stormcloaks, since the empire's done nothing for Morrowind. He takes a dim view of all the gods since Vvardenfell, and will screw them over when he gets the chance. He is chaotic neutral. Will likely marry Jenassa. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lzg357fe2J1qkkw9mo1_500.jpg

The beast. My first serious RPG character. I have 6 others parked and I am quite pleased with Frank. (Not a bunny) His pic in the sig below, a hot day at the Riften forge.

A level 56 badass, wicked but not evil. Hunting Dragons is really what he lives for, pretty nearly all Ancients these days ... like this one:

Most everything else is pretty weak. One shots most everything even the odd Briarheart but that's a critical's thing I think. Pretty much owns the place. No followers ... they just die.

I have two. One is kind of a "Jack of all trades" heavy armor, dual wielding, Destruction magic archer. Does it all pretty well. The other is a light armored Spellsword. Both kill Thalmor on sight.

I have characters of other races, but Dunmers are my favorite.

I play on the XBox, so no screenshots.

My Dunmer has One-Handed, Destruction (I limit him to fire to make it more interesting) and Light Armor, but also has some Heavy Armor. Out of non-combat skills I focused him on Smithing. I tend to do that on most of my warrior characters.
So far he's a Legate and a Blade. I won't have him join any more factions, just wandering around free (yay freedom!) after he finishes the main quest.

you can pretty much create any build with any race , only some races will have a advantage early in their careers, because of racial skill bonuses , but eventually rhey will all even out when you keep adding lvls and perks in the right skilltree of your chosen career

so you could just as easy play a orc mage or nord mage and you might have some disadvantages early on but eventually they will be just as good as any breton or altmer mage and vice versa for a kahjiit berserker or a dunmer paladin

I'm not playing one right now but I have made some interesting battlemages/spellswords with them. I would also consider them for pure mages, thieves, assassin's, and being a housecarl of a Jarl.

Mine is a Daedra worshipping refugee from Morrowind.

Same here. Except mine is a 'she'. Haven't played far with her yet and her backstory isn't planned but she uses destruction and illusion magic with a mace or sword. I haven't yet decided whether she'll have light or heavy armour so no perks invested in those yet. Going for the evil cleric type character here.

I'm new to Dunmers so I'm going to read a little more into the lore first so I can get a better feel of them. After that I'll pick her up again and start perking her out.

My current char is a dunmer assassin. Well he wasn't really an assassin in the beginning, just a thief, but he fell in love with the wrong girl and it drove him mad sending him on a killing spree. Now he's a member of the Dark Brotherhood.

Yesterday he killed a shop owner just because the guy looked at him kinda funny.

I only played one Dunmer and I played him as an assassin. He joined the DB and I had him seek out and find all the Daedric quests that he could.

This build just kind of fit how I image Dunmers in the current TES world. With on homeland to speak of anymore, major cities destroyed, Great Houses in ruin, there is just not a lot of options for them.

I play Dunmer almost exclusively. My current character has been set up to last a long time.

Uses both Bows and Dual Daggers/ Swords, Sneak, Light Armor, Pickpocket.

Started out joining the Legion with no home in Skyrim. Put down the rebellion but was cast out after the campaign was over. With no source of income and no place to call home he eventually fell in with the thieves guild. He is trying to make enough money to buy Proud Spire Manor as a front for not being in the guild.

He will eventually become an assassin (havent figured out why) and then when he is old and tired of his evil doing he will turn his life towards the study of Skyrims history and dabble in the magical arts. (allthough I will not really invest any perks in magic.)

Very fun build and only gets in tight spots versus heavy two handers. Play as if I really have an agenda.

Classic Battlemage here. Very fun to play.

Playing a Dunmer presents a very interesting dilemma. Do you help the Empire, which, at one time, subjugated your entire homeland? Or do you help the Stormcloaks, who see you as an untermensch?

Sounds preety cool, not going to lie. Never gace much thought to a combat based Dark Elf.

This guy. I like this guy. A lot, reminds me of the very first look at the Dunmer we got way back in the pre Skyrim hype days.

Cool, cool. I've always struggled with the mage/thief my self, such a bizzare mix.

Never been a fan of the JOAT's myself but I suppose we agree on which race is the best.

I find Dunmer go really well with vampirism because of their fire resist. My Dunmer is a vampiric Assassin.

Okay, darn it! After reading this thread the other morning, I started my THIRD Dunmer character, so now I'm back up to six characters (I can't help myself).

This one is a female named "Bladen'Kerst" based on a character from R.A Salvatore's book series. Only at level 5 and she will probably be a dual dagger wiedling / archer asassin type character. I haven't decided whether she's going to join the DB or just kill 'em all and take their stuff. I wasn't going to give her any other weapons, but she just found this really cool scimitar ("CURVED SWORDS!") under an overturned boat on the beach near Dawnstar.

Mighty fine looking drow. What mods are you using?

My One-Handed plus Archery character likes to use fire in her off hand out of contempt for those without innate fire resistance. I have some affinity with the Ashlanders, and dabbled early on in Alchemy and Restoration because I respect earthiness and healing.
