Dragon's as safe containers

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 8:00 am

I can confirm that NAMED dragons never disappear in game, and no NPC's check the corpses, thereby making dragon corpses an excellent place to store your goods. You are welcome.

EDIT- fixed a mistruth, can you find it?

inb4 lock.

@moderators- You allow us to talk about EXACT QUESTLINE DETAILS but god forbid we talk about containers eh?

seems legit

Does that first dragon you kill remain? Mangg went looking for it's body and couldn't find any bones.

He found it in a later episode. I could actually see him pass the bones twice. Mangg is just clueless.

Storage, Luke Skywalker/Bear Grylls style, huh? :P Sounds like a weird but good choice for players without a house, unless that Dragon is located very far from civilisation.

Wouldn't it be Han Solo style? Luke was the item being stored... Han was the one who put the item in there. :D

this information pertains to the first dragon fight, if you wish to remain unspoiled do not click

Spoiler
The first dragon fight is barely outside of whiterun, and is near a main road, making it extremely convenient if you don't fast travel as you will pass it frequently

um i just watched a video and the player returned to the 1st dragon he killed to test this and the dragon skeleton was gone

so id say u cant do this!

i saw the video of him killing it and then i saw him return and it was gone!

If you're talking about Mangg... he eventually finds it. If not, idk.

This is something that is easily testable early in the game so i'm sure most will try it out with something small and see what happens. Self confirmation rather than trusting randoms on a forum.

So this not just for any Dragons then but the scripted ones thats could be consider safe contianers?

What about the other random dragons,do they dissapear after a while?

Can you imagine all the bones left all over Skyrim,"Peasant looks the bones left over from some time, the Dragonborn kill that.

so dragon corpses dont disappear then. This makes me wonder if eventually, say perhaps you just hung around a specific area alot, if it would become littered with dragon corpses... Or maybe they would just stop comming around that area after a while. I mean, if the last 30 guys who flew within a mile of that city got obliterated, i'd probably start considering a way around it... If i recall, dragons ARE sentient after all...

It's been said. Named dragons don't disappear, but random ones do.

This. Or find some other more reliable non-respawning container. From what I've heard those ragdolls stay ragdolls. Who knows what could happen to them!

I can't say why(spoilers) but dragons once killed by the dragonborn can't come back.
