Dragon Slayer: Alduin's Last Words? (Spoilers)

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:44 pm

Hey everyone

Does anyone know what Alduin says after he's defeated? The subtitles never appear and I'm not quite fluent in the language to be able to spell things out by ear.

Quoted from Pilaf on http://www.imperial-library.info/content/tesv-skyrim?page=5 (SPOILERS everywhere on that page, folks.):
edit tres: Okay, amigos. One more thing before Unkie Pilaf returns to the myth lands for the night. Someone in a youtube comments section apparently translated the draconic from the final parts of the main quest. Alduin's dialogue is telling:
Alduin: "Dovahkiin, hin kah fen kos bonaar = Dragonborn, your? pride will be humble."
"Pahlok joorre! Hin kah fen kos bonaar = Allsky mortal! Your pride will be humble"
"Zu'u unslaad! Zu'u nis oblaan! = I'm unending! I cannot end!" (He states this loudly after you deplete his health bar and before exploding.)

DRAGONS -? After the fight: "Alduin mahlaan! = Alduin fell [at?] last!"
"Thu'umii los nahlot = Shouting is silenced"
"Mu los vomir! = We are unallegianced!"
"Dovahkiin los ok dovahkriid! = Dragonborn is his dragonslayer!"

PAARTHURNAX: "Alduin wahlaan daanii = Alduin built a/an [daanii?]""Krosis = Sorrow""So los nid fahdon = So is no friend)"
"Sahrot krongrah = Mighty conquerer in battle""Niid koraav zeim dinoksetiid? = No summer joins through deaths time"
"Zu'u tiiraaz ahst ok mah = I'm displeased at his fall"
"Grik los lein = Such is the world"
"Goraan! = Earth animal!)"
ODAHVIING: "Thuri, Dovahkiin = Overlord, Dragonborn"
"Pruzah wundunne wah Wuth Gein = Good grace to The One"

Thank you very much. That's been bugging me the last few days, but I couldn't find it on uesp. Never been to the Imperial Library. I should check it out.

Thanks again.

They did such a super-good job on Paarthurnax didn't they?
The guy who voiced him performed a masterpiece...
(I like Paarthurnax, he's my buddy, I would never kill him.)
Apparently I can summon him now, to help me.
Gonna have to try that out one day.

You can't summon Paarthurnax, the summons is for Odahviing. You shout his name the same way you did when you called him to Dragonsreach to capture him.

The P-Dov has embraced the Way of the Voice and is, presumably, a pacifist. IIRC he helped you out with Alduin at the battle at the Time Wound but that's about the limit of his aggro.

Don't be disappointed, though, Odahviing rocks. He has not embraced the Way of the Voice, but sworn fealty to you as the Dovahkiin and slayer of his previous boss Alduin. Some of my best times late in the game have been provided by calling him for backup. It became my go-to method of dealing with large Forsworn encampments... just ride up, dismount, summon Odahviing, fire an arrow into the camp, find the best possible safe vantage point, and break out the popcorn.

It didn't hurt that I was riding Shadowmere at the time. Between her and the Big O, it was usually a hell of a show. Nothing like watching your horse chase your enemy down the side of a hill only to have him run right into the fiery maw of the dragon that just landed at the bottom of it. :D

Yes, Odahviing (sorry).
Still, gonna have to try that out - I don't really ever need him...

Does sound like that would be entertaining!

Well, I didn't really need him at that point either... I had Shadowmere and the Spectral Assassin on demand, late game OPed armor and weapons, plus wiz kid Marcurio as a loyal follower. There wasn't a whole lot we couldn't handle on our own. What I'm saying is, I did it mostly for the lulz.
