Enchantment and some very specific gloves

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 7:56 pm

I've been using melee sneak attacks, illusions, and alteration for most of the things I find in the game and someone I know mentioned he has some gloves that give him an extra x15 backstab damage with daggers on top of his x30. He said they are light armor. I think that is awesome except for the part about it bring light armor.

I don't want to know where those glove are so I didn't ask. I'm just wondering about a mechanic of the gloves for when I do find them.

I haven't been wearing any armor but robes instead. If I wear light armor I'll loose some of my nice alteration defense benefits and water down my skill point distribution. It feels like bad synergy because I made a choice to go unarmored and rely on alteration for the detect life spells.

Enchantment is what I'm looking at now. Can these gloves with x15 backstab easily be ripped of their enchantment and then the enchantment easily put on equipment? I messed with enchantment a bit to see how that works but I wanted to keep my daggers at the level they were at and not at the base dagger damage with an enchantment.

I haven't really messed with enchantment that much yet since I don't have the smithing perk that would allow me to boost the base damage of enchanted weapons. I plan on working on my enchanting later but I was waiting until I could upgrade enchanted weapons using smithing.

Awesome! Thanks. I was worried my whole structure would be flawed in my goal for a good alpha strike and magic utility and now I feel better.

If we could thumbs up a dude in this forum you would get one.
