Enchantments for followers

I'm on an xbox, so I can't do this myself, but does anyone know which enchantments on gear works for followers? I get the impression (from experience) that some enchantments work (weapon enchantments seem to do fine) but apparel enchantments may not be as straightforward. Do followers benefit from Muffle? Or magic resistance? Or Fortify [skill] enchantments?

Also, my only insight to a follower's actual skills are very subtle clues from equipment or general listings in the guide. This is somewhat frustrating, as in other games with followers/companions, you could ask what kind of gear they preferred and they'd tell you, or you could see a stat page or whatever. So I was surprised that when I gave Aela the Huntress a magic resist 23% fortify sneak 47% ring, she preferred to wear her The Bond of Matrimony ring, which buffed restoration by 10%. I've never seen her cast resto spells. Am I missing something?

Is there a decent list of follower skills and or usable enchantments (for followers) somewheres on teh innerwebz?

I'd be curious as well.

I agree that weapon enchants appear to work fine. Regarding apparel, I once tried to give Lydia some boots to increase her carry capacity but it didn't seem to work. I'd love it if it turns out I can put fire resist gear on her and not worry so much about blowing her up with fireballs.

While followers have definitely come a long way in TES games they still seem rather limited. I'd be fine with that if they just made it a little more clear such as via a follower stat page or some other in-game means.

Resist enchants do work, or certainly did until the recent patch

A good tactic was to max out a followers shock resistance and you could then use Storm Call with them around

I gave Aela two pieces of gear with +23% Resist Magic, and enemy spells which otherwise 2-3-shot me (I have nearly 80% MR and I still get roasted on Master) don't even touch her. She must have some innate magical resistance that we can't see.
