Just had a question. I'm going the independent route and I was able to get the Enclave to help me. However, after doing the override chip and turning on the power, when I finally ran into them they were hostile and I had to kill them. I didn't' shoot at them or anything first. Is this normal, or did I do something wrong? Thanks.

They align with NCR, so if the NCR hates you, so will the Remnants.

On the plus side it's the only way to get to wear the Enclave Officer Uniform for a few minutes.

Indeed. The only way to keep them nonhostile if going independent is to talk to the guards in salvaged power armor outside the Dam control room. Tell them that Colonel Moore is in trouble with a speech check and they'll run off, letting you get into the control room without having the NCR going hostile.

Wait so if you go the yesman way you cant have the remnants help you at the dam?

Huh. Maybe my game glitched, but on my last playthrough I finished with Yes Man while still idolized by the NCR. When I got into the control room, NCR was not hostile to me, just distracted with gunning down Legion. I did what I had to do, got out, and at least one of the Remnants (Cannibal Johnson) was still friendly to me and fighting by my side at the Legate camp. Hadn't even seen any of them before that.

You can get the Boomers to help you and I think there is a way to get the Great Khans to help you.

I went independent and NCR hated Me I got it done but dont remember how i do believe there is a spech check somewhere i forget but i did it with 80 speech but i think its 70 any to answer your question Yes you can

I don't know about getting help from the Brotherhood or the Remnants, but the NCR was on my side at the battle of Hoover Dam. The NCR was only a danger to me at the end, if I don't convince the general to leave the dam in my hands.
