FALLOUT 5 OR NV2 PRE-PRODUCTION

Post » Fri Mar 11, 2016 12:35 am

Recently, Ryan Alosio the voice of Deacon from Fallout 4 tweeted,"Internally there is movement gearing up for the pre-production of Fallout 5 ….(shhh), obviously I can’t get into any details at all right now but it will be a very interesting journey moving forward.

So, with that said I believe he actually means the next Fallout being made by Obsidian Entertainment and Published by Bethesda. We know B"ethesda is hiring and has opened a new team and Obsidian recently was hiring as well. What are your thoughts on this news and possibly the next Fallout from Obsidian?"

As I said in the other thread.

The tweet basically said that BGS is just doing what we know they have always done. Release Product X, start the ground work on the next version of Product X, while shifting the development of the next version of Product Y into the next phase. There is NOTHING that we did not already know in that tweet.

I really don't get why people are making such a huge deal out of this. The fact that Fallout 5 is going to happen shouldn't really be a revelation. Fallout is one of the biggest franchises in gaming and Fallout 4 has been hugely successful. Of course there's going to be a Fallout 5.

I see no reason to suspect that this is referring to a new Obsidian game. If Obsidian makes another Fallout game it isn't going to be Fallout 5. It's going to be another "side" game like New Vegas. At this point nobody knows if Obsidian will ever even make a new Fallout game.

They did this with Fallout 4. Once they was done with Fallout 3 they worked on Skyrim and Fallout 4.

That said I doubt it's a Obsidian Fallout .

Well, I'll consider this information as bad news. I was hoping for new Fallout by Obsidian, but needless to say we all doubt it will happen, the guy clearly writes 'Fallout 5'...

Irony. :)

Deacon.....the voice actor for the biggest lying [censored] in the game said something and people fell for it.

Anyway, yea, would rather see Obsidian work on a Bloodlines 2.

Jeez. Fallout 4 hasn't even finished releasing its DLCs and we're already stoking the engine of the Fallout 5 hype train?

At least let us buy our tickets first.

Another way to look at it is that Fallout 4 is already dying and we have to move on to Fallout 5 to keep ourselves interested.

But then again that could just be me.

not really. If I remember the preproduction work for 4 immediately after three basically involved one guy. Now I have no idea if they really are working on it already, but it does make sense. Releasing a game every 5 years leaves a lot of money on the table. I wouldn't be surprised if the higher ups told them they needed to get on a 2 or 3 year release schedule. If FO4 makes them a billion dollars that'sgreat, but when it only happens twice a decade it ttakes some of the bloom off the Rose.

As I said in the previous thread, I trust the site that originally posted this as much as i trust a dog to do calculus.

However, its not impossible. Kirkbride(a former bethesda dev) I think it was, said Bethesda always has the next two games or so planned out,

In Fallout 3 and its DLC we got mentions of the other "major" wasteland of the East Coast

-The Pitt

-The Commonwealth

-The Broken Banks

-Ronto

We got The Pitt in a DLC, and The Commonwealth in Fallout 4, it makes sense they would continue on with their major east coast wastelands by either doing Ronto or The Broken Banks next.

Bethesda wouldn't have mentioned them if they had no plans for them, or didn't already knew what they wanted to do with them.

The Broken Banks is likely to be in Charleston South Carolina.

Broken Banks is based off of an area in North Carolina, I thought.

But Charlestown SC would be great!
