[REQ] Faster walk speed, slower run...

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 9:44 pm

Surely I cannot be the only one who is annoyed at the speed difference between player and NPC? Whenever you have to follow an NPC, or just in general want to walk around you move like a snail. Any NPC who you're following will be miles a head of you unless you sprint now and again to catch up. Likewise with running, if you're running along side of them you continually pass them up and have to pause for them.

Not sure about you but this is not only annoying but hurts my immersion.

I know this will likely have to wait until the kit cones out but if someone could whip up a mod that makes the PC walk and run at the same speed as NPCs I'd be much obliged. :)

Ive noticed this too. its infuriating. I want to just walk behind an npc for a quest, but i have to run every 4 seconds to keep up and it totally ruins immersion for me

You can slow your running speed to your liking but unfortunately you will slow the walking as well. No problem with me though since I rarely if at all walk. Anyways, if you want to slow your running type in the console:

player.modav speedmult #

The default running speed # is 100. That's too fast for me.

A ingame menu with aditional hotkey would be nice for such a mod, just pressing a key for getting slower or faster sounds perfect.

I cannot be the only one
Nope, you're not. It was what I said I would change in the "What's the first thing you're going to do with the Creation Kit?" thread. I can't wait to tinker with some GMSTs.
