I went to Redoran's Retreat before joining the College in Winterhold. I found the Fragment: On Artaeum and grabbed it and it shows in my items as a quest item I cannot drop. At the college, the character who runs the library asks me to find it, and the quest points me to Redoran's Retreat. I cannot give him the book, and the dialogue with him never gives the option. I went back to Redoran's retreat and went all the way to the chest where I originally found it and the arrow points to the chest, but of course the item is not there. Since it's a quest item, I can't drop it and pick it back up again, so I'm stuck & can't follow the quest tree with this character.
