No friendly fire dammage?

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but it seems your attacks don't damage your followers.

I could be wrong but if I'm not then I'm personally happy about it. I've been worried lately because I couldn't see how thing would work out, if your fighting melee and your follower is too then there is a huge possibility you could damage them in the process. Then there is spells, don't get me started on those, I mean with all the AOE going on that really had me worried.

SO what do the rest of you think?

Just saw a video in which some guy as a werewolf mauled his companion by accident, and the companion didn't even flinch. So, I agree with you.

I like it this way. No more repeats of the "Baurus incident"

Well you can kill your companions. Maybe they just had it where you can't damage them by accident during battle with another person/creature.

I can see that.

But hey, its not like you really needed him/her, right? Thats a few extra xp/swings on something! Plus, something else to loot!

I heard of an incident where a dragon shout with pushback knocked a companion off a bridge, killing him... and of a lot of reloadings due to companion deaths :/ So even if you can't directly injure a companion with friendly fire, seems that some spell effects do impact em.

I thought they were immortal...the companions. I thinks someone mentioned in another thread that Lydia bit it, then returned after battle.

I'm for friendly fire damage. It makes the game a bit more realistic and gives me more challenge.
What I don't want is a friendly NPC aggroing me for the slightest "hurt" in combat.

I'm sad to admit it, but it's a good thing... for now.
They should improve the AI instead, but until they do, I think that this solution will do.
Still, I wonder what will happen in case we wish to go on a rampage and kill everyone in sight (even the companions and wife/husband).
Maybe they did it like Fable did it and there is a safety switch in the options.

Personally I hope its a toggle, something you can turn off and on. That way people can just have what they like.

Me, I'll have it turned off.

I know.. so many times I had to reload a save because of that... I could not live with killing him even by accident.

I hated that in Oblivion (when attacking an enemy) your companion(s) get in the way and you can't attack without hitting everybody in play. I've heard (or read somewhere in my endless search for information on Skyrim) that your attacks tend to aim at the enemy npc while aiming away from friendly npc's. I have no evidence of this, but I do have high hopes.
