Good guy+lycanthropy=still good?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 9:49 pm

So I really want to be a werewolf in my first play through but I also want to be a good kind of protagonist character as well. Is this possible or will a lot of the quest lines force me to make either a good decision or an evil "werewolf kill the townsfolk" decision. What do you all think?

Sorry ahead of time if this has already been brought up.

You shouldn't have to worry about that, as a werewolf you don't even have to kill anymore in order to avoid a huge stat penalty the next day.

You can still be good but you'll be rejected by society as a werewolf should they see you in wolf form or know about your curse.

So long as you don't use your powers for evil and you don't let the narrow-minded NPCs see you, then you should be fine. I'm going to play as a good werewolf myself; my main concern is that even if I save NPCs in werewolf form they might end up attacking me as well. TES NPCs have always been like that, hopefully they aren't like that in Skyrim but I think the odds are that they are still so narrow minded.

There are going to be plenty of Reavers, Bandits, Marauders, and Vampires to feed off of...I wouldn't worry...

That's exactly what I was thinking about, same with the silver hand. Are they a "good" organization trying to rid the world of abominations or is there something deeper. Same with the companions guild are they "evil" per-say? I am just unsure who to align myself with as well.

Just restrict your meals to bandits, etc... out in the wildrerness, and stay out of sight of townsfolk.

The companions are just the skyrim version of the fighters guild :foodndrink:

Seeing as you turn into a werewolf my guess is that you'll have to find a lot of bandits and be out of sight at all times during night. Hard to do I've found.

I personally want to play as a pretty decent guy. I will use my werewolf power to gain advantage in dungeons and tight situations. I will also use it to defend the innocent and such. Will most likely feed on bandits and people I don't like. Will also help my friends, and during huge battles.

You make your game, man.

They were never evil. It's like calling a normal wolf evil for killing deer! It's not logical!

Are they? How are they good in the game? If this is true that will help a lot of my worries.

well since hicrine is lord of the hunt "the sport of deadra" and lycanthropy was created by him.
you can't really compare it with merely hunting for food.

is a wolf evil for killing a deer and then eating it? no
is the fox evil for killing an entire coop of chicken without eating any of them? yup
is the komodo dragon evil for killing some1 merely because they look him in they eye? yup

this is ofcourse by human standards, in the eyes of deadra, its just all fun and games

Does a komodo dragon kill someone because they looked him in the eye? No. They feel threatened.

There is no evil in Elder Scrolls.

They are the bad guys.

They are food. Wolves eat meat. Makes sense.

I would think that if you chose to become a werewolf, then you would likely be "Chaotic", but not evil...and if you had no choice in the matter, then obviously it isn't something you could help.

So, no. I don't think being a werewolf would necessarily mean that you are no longer a "good" character.

Is it true? So we're not forced to eat anyone once turned into wolves?

If they see you in wolf form they don't know what you look like when you aren't in wolf form.

So that doesn't make much sense?
