I've seen them. I've seen their beaks, feathers and talons used for ingrediants. Can we kill them? Seems I can never get close enough to one with a bow before they fly off.

You can shoot them down as they fly through the air.

Yes, they drop things like feathers and hawk beak but I can't remember if they're hawks.
Took me ages to kill my first one. I've only ever seen them flying.

You may be able to knock one out of mid air, but their a much easier way:

1. Watch it for a minute or so. Just stand still and watch.
2. It will land in a nest, either in a tree or on a rock outcropping.
3. With bow or spell at the ready, plunk 'em.
4. Collect the ingredients when it falls to the ground.

Note: They don't stay nested for long, so be ready. If you miss and spook them...just wait.
It'll circle back to it's nest.

They are hawks alright. "Hmm, could I shoot one down?" I had made some ridiculously good hits on bandit archers recently, so I jokingly thought shooting a circling hawk from the sky is a piece of cake after that. Dat feel when I actually hit with my first shot, and from very far distance away! The hawk was even doing a horizontal move so I had to aim a bit in advance. The arrow was about to miss. Then the hawk changed its course - and actually got dropped by the arrow! Now that was a perfect shot if I ever made one!
