If I remember correctly, your journal says to survive ....... Do not remember the nameof it. There is no marker for it. You have to go through, follow the tunnels, and it will take you to the Forgotten Vale

i have completed that check point its the next.
i am at the forgotten vale portal (according to the map) where a snow elf ghost is saying that some gods brilliance will illuminate my path and i take the water from the shrine next to him then i have no idea where to go .
is this a bug is something meant to happen when i take the water because all i got was a quest update

Follow the path around to the right, with your back facing the shrine. Follow the path to the next shrine. So forth and so on. There are some paths, especially around the falmer camps that you can very easiely miss.

When you leave the cave and follow a path into the Vale, there is a shrine on the right side. From there I went to the right up the path through an arch, and followed it to another shrine. From there I did the same thing. The shrines do have portals to where you have already been. There are pieces of ruins to mark the way.

If you still have problems, ask Uriel Nocturne or one of the other testers. I am presently brain dead right now, and taking break. Sorrry for the shortness. I do remember that it is easy to get lost in the vale.

Once you're through the cave and at the first place to fill the Initiate's Ewer, there'll really only be one way to go. Follow the path outside and into a wooded area. It'll pop up that the Forgotten Vale has been discovered. Now like other areas of the game, there are obscure dirt/stone paths to follow around the Vale. If you follow the path that leads off to the right, you'll get to the second shrine... eventually.

i don't want to leave any illusions that this is a quick trip. The Vale is actually a several hour quest in its own right and the distance between the shrines is long indeed. Plus, once you enter the Vale, your compass should update with four markers that will eventually lead you to all of the Wayshrines, plus Auriel's Temple at the very end/

Good luck.

How ever i am still lost i took the water from the first shrine and turn and walkout where a man is saying the path will be illuminated and i go down a path on the right where i killed a sabre tooth but the room is just a dead end and i have searched from top to bottom around the cave but still lost i am not sure if this is a bug or i am just walking past a lever somewhere that i keep missing

You go through the shrine, one of the walls will turn into a door where you go to it and press x and it will take you to the forgotten vale.

Once you get the water from the first shrine, the back wall (the one directly in front of you) will turn into a mirror like portal that shows an area vastly different from the caverns that you're currently in. Go through this portal and it will drop you at the entrance to the Forgotten Vale.
