So I've just started my new character and I've just got to Riverwood.
When i approached Hod to sell him some firewood, he says "a new face in Riverwood, an ugly one at that.."

He's clearly jealous of my Elven superior good looks.
I'm thinking I might have to arrange an 'accident' at the mill..

But yeah, I've never heard him say this before, and I've had the game since release, it still surprises me

Hod is so lazy . His wife is out at the crack od dawn and he won't leave the house until I chop some wood and sell it to him.

He working around noon until evening though. Sometimes he even takes day off and just wandering inside his house.

Lol. That's pretty funny. Never walked up to him as an elf only human characters.

He flirts with women and insults men. You missed the "no offence" at the end of his sentence.

can a high elf even grow a beard?

never heard him say that but my male characters are Nord or Orc and he won't dare say anything offensive to an Orc. He will be killed and his widow will have a new "husband"

Well Elves kind of took over Skyrim with their Thalmor. Rude and ugly minions... he has a valid reason for calling you out.

But.. I'm a nice elf

Before that, it's known that Nords despise all elves. I get this dialogue on any elf I've played, but nothing near this rude on my other non-elf races.

There's no such thing as a 'nice elf'.
Dark Elves: Mysterious con-artists who only care about theiving and money.
High Elves: Concided witches who only care to increase their fairy like skills to take over Tamriel.
Wood Elves: Smart? Yes. Tree hugging, snow elf hating, midgets. The snow elves were the victims.

Actually, Nords despise Altmers and Dunmers, but don't mind Bosmers, because they are rarely found in Skyrim.

does he have the same response to a female elf? gonna have to have mine talk to him and see what his response is.

I love how Hod encourages and praises his son's pranks.
