How to fix this Pickpocket Glitch?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:52 am

So I was given a task by Delvin to pickpocket Lars Battle-Born To retrieve the common ruby, but the problem is that I'm unable to do it. I tried pickpocketing him while hes asleep and theirs no option to pickpocket him. I tried waiting to see if him being awake does the trick, still nothing. This kid doesn't have a pickpocket option. I can pickpocket everyone else in whiterun but him. How can I complete this task when I'm unable to do it?

http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g322/Raidensama/Skyrim/TESV2012-03-1614-54-22-55.jpgbut according to http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Children
Much like in http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3, children cannot be killed, injured, or knocked unconscious, nor can they be http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Pickpocket. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Shouts also do not affect children no matter which shout is used. However they can still be hit and weapons skill can be increased from doing so.

Another Bethesda's [censored] ups.

THIS GAME SHOULD OF NEVER BEEN RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC!

Even with my killable children mod I still can't complete this quest.

just go back to delvin and tell him you want to quit the job, you can then start a new job for him instead.

Even tough that's not really related... i always tought it was kind of funny all the random junk you can find on the dead children's body, broken swords, quills, etc.

I shouldn't have to when my pickpocket is at decent level, and with pickpocket potions.

Bethseda should proof their quests to be sure that they can be completed. This piss me off.

well you can svck it up and quit the quest to start another, or cry in perpetuity that a small radiant quest is broken... those are your options.

chalk it up to random dumb luck. i've done over 125 of the delvin/vex quests and never had one that targeted a child by mistake.

I'm surprised you got a child, you must have been really unlucky. Maybe next time you should save before taking any of those jobs.

I got Lars once, too, and I just reloaded my save from when I entered the Flagon. Problem solved.

Or do like Throndar said and not make a mountain over a molehill.

I ended up telling Delvin that I quit the job to cancel out on the quest. It is a bit irritating that bethseda would add something like this to the job list knowing that the player is unable to do it because of the restrictions that they put on NPC children.

Who knows, maybe they didn't know children would be selected. I had a broken quest concerning rewriting the books in Haelga's place. The book would not activate. When I turned on the quest marker, it appeared on the ceiling next to a wall. Went upstairs and it indicated the floor. It was no where near the book and it would not activate. So I quit the quest and took another. I will save before taking a fishing job in case the target is a kid. Annoying, but not a big deal. Seriously, if it is that big a game breaker quit playing the game. It isn't worth the stress.

The quest conditions specifically exclude children. So the selection had a minor hiccup -- don't get too worked up over it.
