How to make healing potions?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 6:24 pm

I've looked on a couple guides across the net now and can't just simply find a Recipe for a Healing Potion. Anyone know where one is? OR the ingredients to make them?

Thanks!

ask the bartender inside the sleepy giant inn in riverwood. He tells you the recipe. I think it is wheat and something else

Crack open the Skyrim's editor or get a game book. Or look up ingredient lists on the internet for Skyrim.

They won't give you recipies right away, but will give you the list of ingredients and their properies. Two ingredients with the same effect(s) will make a potion with that effect.

wheat, blisterwort, blue mountain flower, giant's toe, blue dartwing, eye of sabre cat, imp stool, rock warbler egg, etc.

Alchemy shops sell some recipes. The alchemists will often give you the blisterwort + wheat recipe in their dialogue. Beyond that you need to taste ingredients to unlock their first effect.

If you have an Android phone, there's a really good app in the Market called Skyrim Alchemy Helper. (I assume there's an iPhone version, too).

It lists the ingredients and gives their effects, and you can also search for effects and it gives you a list of the ingredients you need to create a potion for them. It also lists multiple effect recipes, and gives gold values for the potions you can create. You can even tag items as favorites for quick reference. Very nice and very useful.
