How playable is this game without the updates?

I was going to buy this in a few days, but after I saw what patch 1.2 does, I'm not so sure any more. I know there are some broken quest lines, but what other glitches are present without a patch and how unplayable would it be (including the broken quest lines)?

Well, I have no patches, and the only problems I've encountered so far are: I can't buy the solitude house or get quests from the jarl or her steward, the game has frozen twice in 50 hours of play, and a goat has walked past me with turbo-legs. Oh yeah, and the whiterun blacksmith fell out of the sky once. Other than that, it's run remarkably well!

Hmmm interesting; I may give it a shot. Anyone else had any major problems without a patch? Minor glitches are fine as long as it doesn't completely hinder my game-play.

Generally no problems, did have break-dancing dragon bones once after a killed one and it got tangled in a tree, but it did sort itself out after a few minutes. Once froze on an autosave but after I restarted the game found that it had actually saved ok. Patch 1.2 is working fine for me as well but I didn't really have many issues beforehand.

I guess I'll go head and buy it and give it a shot. Aside from the freezes, seems like all the glitches are pretty much just laughable ones which I usually enjoy.

It's very playable on my Xbox 360 250gb Slim.. I have only encountered minor bugs that not have affected gameplay, they have only made me laugh - especially when I met a dragon that flew backwards.
