Subject pretty much says it all...I have a trackball mouse I love, but it doesn't have a wheel. How do I scroll on the map?

I don't see the point in zooming in and out on the map because the maximum zoom isn't really that close anyway so it's a little pointless.

The wheel just zooms, and you can't go in very far anyway, kind of useless to be honest.

You can scroll the map by moving the pointer to any edge of the screen, and you can hold the right mouse button to change the angle of the view.
