I just spent 2 hours decorating my house

Yeah, the grab button, at least on PC, is terrible compared to Oblivion's. Also, by clicking on the bookshelf, you can have the computer place your books for you.

Good luck with that op, every time I try to decorate, my house explodes when I'm out on a random quest, the game just doesn't have any support for it for me.

have you reentered your home? I've heard that everything might start bouncing around or fall through the floor.
I get that the first time I reenter after decorating, but if I replace everything to where it was then it usually stays put.

I was going through a huge Dwemer ruin and I couldn't help but collect all those cool artifacts along the way - to the point I became over encumbered, I grit my teeth and dropped everything else. Potions, weapons, armor, dragon scales - anything as long as I could keep those damn artifacts to display in my home!

The WinterHold house is the best, imo. More merchants too and close to Stormcloak.
Winterhold? Don't think there is a house for purchase there. U mean Windhelm or Whiterun?

It is on Xbox as well, I had all my cool stuff on the shelves, I cam back into the house to find it all laying on the floor across the room. Also my save is cursed by the weapon rack glitch that doesn't allow to to put weapons in the racks.

For me this glitch is just for the whiterun house. Ive bought all the houses and only the one in whiterun has a problems with the racks and wall plaques ;) Love the houses in Windhelm and Solitude. Huge with lots of display cases, mannequins for amor, weapon racks and wall plaques :)

Stuff seems to stay after the initial drop-place-reenter to a mess. just replace the stuff and it stays. Hopefully modders can use the place book code to let you place any item on shelves. Also i thought i read somewhere that mannequins would be in the game? I havent seen any nor any for sale yet.
Mannequins are in every other house except for the simple one in Windhelm ;)

Well, I wanted to. Tried to. But half the time when I walk in the door everything bounces around and falls off from where I've put it, so I have since given up. I don't know if this is a PC only bug or not, but good luck!

Turn on VSync or use a frame limiter.

The reason this happens is because the physics are synched to the framerate. when it gets REALLY high, strange things can happen.

Nope, not in every city. U can become Thane in every hold but only buy a house in some of the hold capitals. Whiterun, Windhelm, Solitude, Markarth and Riften are the cities with homes.

How much does the Whiterun house cost?
It costs 5000 gold iirc for the barebones house then you have around 5 or 6 upgrades that cost 200/300 gold each.

Haha, awesome that there are so many cool replies! Well I've re-entered it dozens of times, and the only thing I noticed was my Mammoth tusk had fallen off a shelve. Everything else looks perfect!, and I added a few more cool things. Maybe it's not so screwy on the 360(with things flying about). I wish I could take a screenie for you guys!

Yes. BIG yes, I decorated my house in Fallout 3 in a similar fashion showing off all my bobbleheads and whatnot. I will do the same in this game.

This is a universal bug I think. I am on the 360 and I too have this problem. I bought a house in Windhelm because it has an armory. I spent an entire day collecting nice armor sets to use on the statues and put a bunch of random gems in a display case with all of the claw keys I had. I then leave and come back and my stuff is all over the floor, it bounces out of the closed display case... I then went to use the sword holders on the wall but when I took off the cheap stuff you get when you buy the house it will not let me add any weapons, or shields.

I hope there is a bug fix for this. I takes awhile to grab and line things up right using the A button so I don't want to have to do it all over everytime I go into my house!!

This is a big problem in this one. They really need to fix it. Pretty much every indoor place I go crap is bouncing off the walls.
