Lost NPC How do I get it back?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 6:45 pm

I somehow lost the NPC Whiterun Blacksmith, I can not remember her name but her body is nowhere to be seen and the shop keeper says "Ever since she died.. ect" that is how I found out she was dead after waiting around trying to find her.

Is there a console command to spawn her back? I have no idea how she died I have never been in Whiterun when there has been any violence at all (Please no SPOILERS I am not that far into the game).

Thanks for any help.

[FIX FOR PC FOUND]

Thanks to Heizer & Ttraveler

[For PC]
1. Hit the console key in game which is the ~ key.
2. Type in "Player.moveto 0001A67C" and hit Enter.
3. Look at her body hit the console key again and select her with your mouse.
4. While selected type "resurrect" into the console and hit enter.
5. Teleport back to white run using the player.moveto command (Use "000D15B0" to get to Warmaiden's). -Quick travel does not work in this area.
6. Go outside the shop and stand in a clear space and type "player.placeatme 00013BB9" and she will spawn.

Then she instantly walks back to the forge and begins work, Also the dialogue with her husband is updated so he will no longer say she is dead.

Perfect fix, I'm sure can be applied to any NPC just change the codes and remember that the "Player.placeatme" needs the BaseID and the "player.moveto" uses the RefID.

ID's can be found for any NPC on the Skyrim Wiki.

Thanks for all your help guys!

Maybe go back to where you found them, they might have wandered off?

Have you tried to accquire another companion?
Maybe then, the lost one will go back home?

Thanks for the reply Axelmct, though I'm not sure you fully understood what I said.

Derkiahs, Yeah it's really annoying I'm not sure if it's a glitch, dragon attack or some kind of fight between locals but I hope it doesn't happen again unless I am around to see it so I can at least help and if I fail use the resurrect command.. But you need the body for that..

Search in the Wiki for her CODE ID and type in console if you're on PC:

player.moveto 000XXX

The 000XXX is only a example of how the code shall be.

This way you'll know where her body is.

It's gotta be a glitch I'm thinking. I'd like to think Bethesda wouldnt allow an npc just die without you being there to try and stop it. Especially a non follower vendor. I don't think they should die at all. Hope bethesdas aware and patches it cause I'm on 360 so if not I'm facked.

Well I teleported to her, she was in some weird cross shaped cobblestone hall with two tomb stones in it dead in the centre of the cross with some random nvde elf that was still alive just standing there with no dialogue, I resurrected her but now I don't know how to get her back to the smithy??

Any commands to teleport a npc to you?

I think NPCs AI always have them returning back to their "home spot". Is there a way out of the hall you are at?

Unfortunately not, it's just the cross shaped hall and at the end of each hall is "Nothingness" like the black area you find in video games when you go out of bounds. Not sure what happens if you walk into it because I didn't want to die or get stuck in a endless fall.

That rules out the just walk home method for the NPC.

I don't remember if the 'player.placeatme' command generates a new NPC or teleports the existing one. Save your game and try it.

I wonder if this is part of another quest in the game. Or possibly an unfinished, unpublished quest in the game (like Goblin Wars in Oblivion).

Could be, it looked like a quickly set up tomb, not very big and the two coffins are quite out of place they're not in the centre and they almost overlap each other.

Anyway just in case anyone googles this here is the fix thanks to Heizer & Ttraveler:

[For PC]
1. Hit the console key in game which is the ~ key.
2. Type in "Player.moveto 0001A67C" and hit Enter.
