When I first heard about the game, I can't remember why, (probably bad info) but I had HUGE hopes for the lycans in Skyrim. When I found out that they weren't going to be in the game, it had a pretty big impact on my level of excitement for the game. And NOW, when nobody is certain anymore, I don't know what to think, but my head is working in about 6 different directions.

Ok Ive seen alot of good evidence that Werewolfs are in fact in the game. Now most of you probley have heard Todd Howard say they arent but I think thats a lie.

2. Once you kill a person (BTW finisher moves are epic) you can eat them if thats considered a punishment.
3. You make yourself turn into one. You are not forced to...

Please stop calling them Lycans. This is not Underworld. The Werewolves in The Elder Scrolls series are most commonly referred to as Lycanthropes, Man-beast, Hounds or just Werewolves. You are no better than those who come on the forums and try to turn the Elder Scrolls into a Twilight/VampWerebabyHybrid fest.

The transformation will probably look super epic too!

I never quite thought about using Werewolf form to assassinate people without getting in trouble. I had assumed I'd be killing Tullius the hard way.

yes its confirmed that TES V has werewolves, there were numerous videos that obviously cannot be posted that showed this, for those of you that wanted to know, one of the easiest way to become a Werewolf is to follow the Companions quest line, at a certain point you will be offered the chance to become a werewolf, much like Vincent Valeteri (maybe spelt wrong) offers you to be come a vampire in the DarkBrotherhood quest line in Oblivion, hope this helped

Well, Lycans is at least a unique word. Lycanthrope is just greek for "Wolfman".
And "were" is actually old-germanic for "(hu)man" so "Werewolf" is just a very old fashioned way of saying "Manwolf".

A Wereboar obviously shouldn't be a Lycanthrope but a Choiranthrope. A general designation for beast-men would be Therianthropes.
