Missing companion crashes wedding

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 3:22 am

Lydia disappeared on me - couldn't find her until I tried to marry Ysolda and Lydia's corpse showed up in the temple, preventing the marriage. I begged a second chance from Ysolda, got one, and then made it through the ceremony. So I should be married to Ysolda, but I cannot find her anywhere, in my house where she should be Lydia's corpse showed up on its own. Really need some help, I don't want to play as much if I can't have a living wife and my house is haunted by a dead companions corpse.

Did you have the conversation with your wife at the temple about where you were going to live?

As for the corpse... Ehm, drag it over to the alchemy lab and try to grow some mushrooms on it?

Hmm I don't remember being able to have that conversation before she left, I will try to revert and see if I can make that happen. I will also remove all the inventory from Lydia while she's in the temple before I make my second wedding attempt, in case items are causing trouble. I did drag the corpse in the fire pit though, its harder to see there and my charred mammoth snouts seem to have extra flavor now.

Ok it seems that stripping the lost companion of inventory fixed the bug, posting in case anyone else gets the same problem. Well I still have the corpse in my house, but at least my wife is there now - it would have been better to strip the corpse while it was still in the temple I think.

-Marriage- At least you can get married lol My wife was slain when i got into battle and she was killed which was fine I thought i would move on and find another bride however there is no convo that allows me to do this I am wearing the amulet of Mara and I have tried talking to others who had the option before and even some new people who the guide lists as potentional mates. I really hope this is fixed as I thought it added depth to the game even though I was wishing for a bit more story like in some of Biowares titles I know this is a small glitch that has no overall effect on the game but my fiance and I thought it was a great aspect and would love to see it fixed.
