Mojave Express Dropbox's

Are Mojave Express Dropbox's effectively storeage.

I'm getting to the point where i can't carry everything I want to keep and I don't have housing yet so I was wondering if you can indefinitely keep things in the Mojave Express Dropbox's because i haven't found any other use for them yet.

I can't answer your question, but I can suggest a solution. Go to Primm and clear the Bison Steve Hotel of all the bad guys. You will have storage and a bed to sleep in. Good luck.

I think they are used for when you have to much stuff and you're effectively limited to walking because you are over encumbered. Drop them in the nearest Mojave Express and you can go back to a town and sell off your excess. Not entirely sure though because I haven't run into being over encumbered yet and they seem realllllllllllllllllllly freaking pointless to me.

Sorta. You can use them to ship an unlimited number of items to any other dropbox. However, you can't retrieve items from the dropbox you put them in, as far as I'm aware.

I haven't tested it, but theoretically, this would work so long as you didn't actually use whatever dropbox you shipped the items to until you want them.

I'd test it if I were you though, because it might be that one shipment could "overwrite" another, leading to the first shipment being lost.

Like if you ship two guns to goodsprings from Primm, the second shipment might overwrite the first one, leaving you with only one gun. Or perhaps not, I don't know. Like I said, I haven't tested it or looked at it in the GECK.

I'd find another place to store items. Goodsprings school and later on the motel room in Novac are good candidates.

The dropboxes make it easier to move, eg. 900 lb. of equipment going from Goodsprings to Novac. Means I only have to fast travel once instead of going back and forth a few times.

They're also good for temporary storage, Eg. you're running around Freeside doing quests, but have become overburdened with loot you wanna keep. Ship them off to another place and pick them up later.
