Mouse controls stopped working...

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 2:01 pm

This just happened completely out of the blue... I was in a dungeon, running around killing stuff, and then the mouse just stopped responding. At first I thought the batteries had bit the dust or something, but then I realized that the mouse was working fine in the games UI.

Troubleshooting:
1) Mouse works 100% fine outside of the game.
2) Mouse works 100% fine inside any of the games UI.
3) Mouse DOES NOT WORK AT ALL when in "gameplay" mode.

What this means?

I cannot play Skyrim as there is no way to rotate my character, look up/down and no way to use any attacks other than shouts.

This bug appears to be retroactive.... meaning that when I loaded up some older saves, the mouse is still busted. Tried restarting... no luck.

What gives? Any advice? Anyone else experience this?

Just recently had this hit my game. Same situation. Menus work fine. Mouse look dies in game. Restarting the game fixed problem but it will come back.

If i figure anything else out I will post it.

Just remove the mouse control entry in your Skyrim.ini file under the [Controls] section. Thats what i did to fix this issue since patch 1.3 and upward.
