Only certain actions increase the save file.

Ok, at around 4100 kb I began investigating the cause of the increase. As the thread I posted here earlier suggested, I thought the dungeons not resetting or at least clearing away the bodies was the problem. I have since played over 20 hours with my save only in the 4300's. Please let me know if that's normal, from what I hear the save was larger for individuals by that poin. I just played for five hours straight to get over 20 hours and there is literally no lagging problem. If there isn't supposed to be a problem at 20 hours, then please disregard.

Here is how I did it. I stopped going to new dungeons. I went to my previous dungeons and cleaned out all the loot I'd left (don't know if that had any effect specifically). Instead, I spent my time in the outdoors collecting ingredients, hunting, fishing, and mining then going back into town (I'd only really been to the first two yet) to perform alchemy, enchanting, and blacksmithing.

The 200 kbs appear to have cropped up when I accidentally ran into a clear-able area and then when I decided to visit the college to see if they had another alchemy merchant. I explored the college extensively including going into a few places that may have counted as a dungeon where cached data is concerned.

Now, the problem still needs to be fixed, but this is at least a way to spend the time before the patch. That being said, from the sounds of it, most of you are over the limit.

I'm at 30 hours right now on Gilliam, my save -just- hit 6mb, I will sometimes get some bumps here or there, but they last less then a second, But yea certain things do increase your file size like crazy.

The problem is generally indoor areas. For example, I wouldn't recommend going into a town and running into everyone's home to run about on their table tops, knocking their plates hither and thither. But the outside environment generally refreshes every week or so (in-game time of course). Also, in a town, if you knock over something like a pot, I have seen it get moved back after resting. But I wouldn't test it too much.

Note that when I save, I generally rest in a bed for a few days.
