Plugins Won't Stay CheckedCan't Access Data Files On Launche

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 3:32 pm

Just as the title says. I'm using NMM to install mods but one of my mods won't stay checked. Also, when I go to play Skyrim, the "Data Files" option is greyed out. Any way to resolve this?

If you check the mods in NMM, then you don't need to access them through the launcher and check them again.

This happened with Fallout or New Vegas as well, people would check thier mods, then open up the Data Files screen again and they'd be unchecked.

Just check them in NMM and don't open the datafiles screen

That's just it, I'm not doing that. I check them in NMM and I can't even access the Data Files screen on the launcher...

Go to your Documents\My Games\Skyrim folder and find SkyrimPrefs.ini.

Open it and under the [Launcher] section add the line:

bEnableFileSelection=1

then save and close it, this will enable you to activate data files form the skyrim launcher.

So they are disabled by default? That's strange. Half the reason to get the PC version is the mods, so it's strange that would be disabled as the default setting.

Probably disabled on purpose until the first official DLC and patches arrive... No matter. NMM doesn't require that option to be enabled as far as I know.

Not everyone will use that though. Would be really weird but I suppose they'll "flip the switch" when they start releasing DLC. You may be right.

Yep that's a safe assumption.

After reading this I went to check mine and it was already set to 1
