The Fort glitch

I may have mentioned this in a prior topic, but admist all the bug reports, it wasn't surprising it was lost and not really responded too. Anyway, I've been carving my way through the game, hit a glitch here and there but still managed to make the best of it. The kicker is when it is time to return to the Fort to get the Securitron army so I can create my independant Vegas. Problem is everytime I try to directly fast travel or use the ferry...the game locks up during the loading screen after 20-30seconds.

Now I have been to the Fort before to snatch the Slave Ledger for the Oh my Papa quest, and well apparantly my deeds against the Legion despite a disguise, the dogs sniffed me out and I had to run like mad shooting my way out. But now I can't get back there, and I could just go the route of damaging the dam to finish Wild Card, but as a Bethesda/Fallout die-hard, I want the ending my way entirely. Now the ocasionaly quest glitch for my companions, or glitches that mess with one quest due to you doing another that interlinks with another's objectives I could weather fine with re-loads and just saving some things for replays and when the patches fixed the glitches.

Now despite the glaring amount of glitches and that one is preventing me outright from beating the game as I desire; I'm going to not rant or rave about quiting the games the company releases. Sometimes glitches and errors that pop up after testing happen; even if I agree with many the sheer amount makes us wonder if someone was asleep at the quality testing phase. I love Fallout, and when Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 came out I fell in love with them (especially the latter two as I didn't own Morrowind for myself but played a friends copy and only had so much time with it), and I have faith in the people who made them and who run Bethesda.

I guess one reason alot of people are angry is, the last summer til now, there has been a crapload of DLC bugs (the Metro 2033 Ranger DLC fiasco was a sore point for me), Xboxlive lags and party crashes, inability to join friends games...and a string of games released and needing patches from the get go. And when you have Microsoft wanting to raise Xboxlive subscriptions by ten bucks and some game developers discussing "pay to play" set ups, well the lack of quality and customer assurance of late would make the gamers of the gaming community irate, jaded and wary of the game developers.

That introspective aside, has anyone else encountered this glitch that seems to lock out an area in that even if you try to get there physically (I just swam in the lake near where the fort was and it froze up again), and I'm curious for anyone's thoughts and if the new patches could fix this glitch?
