Barber Shop addition

Post » Tue Dec 14, 2010 10:59 am

So one thing I was thinking, with such a good number of people annoyed that we don't have a barber that doesnt require alot of hoops to use. Do you think we should have a new Barber Shop put into the game, non-faction related so anyone of any playthrough could use him. Maybe set him up in one of the many abandoned shops in Freeside. What are your opinions?

Nonsense.

If we have a barber that's easily accesible, how do you expect the Kings to hold control over the people of Freeside? That's one of the last bargaining chips they've got. :sadvaultboy:

Why not. Or just add an activator to every player-home that has a mirror? It's just a convenience thing, they don't have to make a new character with dialogue.

DOUBLE NONSENSE!

The other barber wouldnt have a cool leather jacket

@apples- I was thinking about that once. In the Lucky 38 theres that desk in the bathroom, that could easily have a fixed mirror put up where we can change our hair, maybe it could have a script that when activated, says 'Would you like to change your hairstyle? Yes/No'

The thing is that the barber is not in The Kings.
I once killed him and the other guys in the room were like "Whoa!".

There should be a 'point of no return' message for hair.

Are you sure you want a 'Tunnel Snake'?

I'm ready! Let's do it!

No (Recommended.)

Yes we need a place to cut our hair. Either put in a hair store, have a Home Securitron within the Lucky 38 be able to do it, or be able to do it in Old World Blues.

I usually do too. I may lose NCR fame for starting up a war, but at least I lose that fame in style :disguise:

How many barbers were in Fallout 3?

There was Snowflake in Underworld, Godfrey at Tenpenny Tower, Wadsworth at Megaton, Butch after leaving the vault, any more?

I don't know why their isn't another one in New Vegas. All the gamblers and caps thrown around New Vegas you would think Vault 21 would of had a hairdresser or barber?

Also NCR should have a barber that would only give you military haircuts. Legion's barber would just shave your head.

Yah the idea of having certain factions only being able to do certain hair-styles sounds interesting, because you wouldn't think of a legion barber giving you a mohawk.

I can't really say I feel strongly about this one way or another. The main problem is that the majority of the game for most players will take place in the first person, and the second problem is that I think the hair options in general for the current engine are really awful. There isn't much decent customization at all, and it all looks kinda bad. Maybe if the Barber Shop came with improved hair options, it could be worthwhile. Otherwise, it just feels like a pointless addition imo.

Yah with all the changes to the engine (new enemies, iron sights, weapons, armour, etc.) they couldn't add more hair styles. There needs to be some dreadlocks or afros.

That's their perogative. If they play it like an FPS, their call, I play it with an RPG aspect, so I like to see myself when running, and since I like playing 'classy intelligent guy' characters. It doesn't do to see me running around in a Mohawk. I like the Smooth Wave hairstyle personally it's got a very suave and sophisticated air around it.

I would love to have a barber to change my style on a whim... that and more hairstyle/beard options.

idk, I usually just pick "The Unsettler" (I think... it is very normal looking) because most of the rest look horrible to me, lol

but yea, more options to change your hair would be great. Heck, if we can get a doctor to give us cybernetic eye implants and sub-effin-dermal armor in post-apocalyptia, i would assume getting a haircut would be easy...
