Pre-Order Bouns Items Question

Post » Fri Dec 17, 2010 11:11 pm

We all know that the Caravan and Classic packages feature the Sturdy Caravan Gun and the Weathered 10mm Pistol respectively. My question is are these merely unique versions of common models found in-game or are they one of a kind weapons with no baseline counterparts.

Just something I thought of the other day while trying to figure out which pre-order I want. (Leaning towards Caravan)

I doubt there would be anything terribly significant about them. It wouldn't make sense from a game balance standpoint to give someone the best gun in the game before they even know which end of it makes the loud noises.

Haha I thought "omg not another one of these" but I think they are unique versions, there are normal versions of them.

I agree but that's not really what I'm trying to get at.

Got a link confirming this? In any case, this is very good to know, thanks.

No link, but Intact Garden Gnome said the Jackals had 10mm Pistols. The grenade rifle is definitely in, and I'm 99% positive there is a regular double barrel shotgun.

There will be base-game caravan shotguns, 10mm pistols, binoculars, and canteens. The one in the pre-order packs will be unque and have something speacial about tham such as higher damage, durability, accuracy, and fire rate.

I think they are slightly different stats, probably a little bit better, with possibly a slight re-texture. My source? absolutely nothing, except our random discussions around here

the grenade launcher is supposed to have a faster firing cycle it says so in the description as for the other slighty better in some way to their regular counterparts but i doubt that obsidian would make them game breakingly better.

we have all already seen there non unique variant.

the jakals carry 10mm pistols.
the grenade rifle has been shown
i am only assuming that there will be a caravan shot gun, but i doubt its unique
the machete has been seen being wielded by a ceasers legion troop

So the Weathered 10mm Pistol has less durability right?

The Caravan Shotgun is also in the game. All of the weapons and armor in the pre-order packs are unique variants of ones that exist in game.

Heh. Fine, fine.... from the FO:NV http://fallout.gamesas.com/eng/home/preorder-fnv-us.php:

Sturdy Caravan Shotgun - Despite its rough appearance, this Caravan Shotgun will reliably fire 20 gauge shells until the Brahmin come home.

and
Weathered 10mm Pistol - A well-worn 10mm pistol that packs an extra punch despite its modest size.

I remember Gstaff posted this in another thread, but it's been confirmed that the Vault 13 canteen will be the only "standalone" canteen in the game.

There will, however be some combat type armors with canteens built into the suits...
