If a lever-action carbine in .44 Magnum is considered "weak", I don't want to see what people rate as "strong".

People too-often mistake "Old" for "Weak". It would be hard to rate anything in .44 magnum as weak in any respect.

The new perks seem pretty cool. It's almost a shame that I'm playing an Energy Weapons character sine the cowboy weapons perk seems great. Then again, I do plan on enjoying the repeaters and revolvers too. Sold!

.50 BMG anti-material rifle with high explosive incendiary rounds.

Or Fatman.

Sounds all very good, especially the bit about the perks.
But the fact that he didn't completely rule out a 19 minute speed run bears ill omen. Even if it is a spped run, the Main Quest branches off and it is only a small part of the overall game it still shouldn't be able to be defeated in a mere 19 minutes. :(

Morrowind can be played in 7 minutes and 30 seconds. :)

I'm pretty sure they'll be some awesome energy gun perks.

Its weak only if your comparing it to guns like the Barrett M82A1 416-SYS.

Yea seems they went the oblivion route here rather than fallout 3.

Doesn't sound much like Oblivion to me. Sounds more like a dozen other games...RPG mechanics like that have been around for a long time.

Exactly, It would seem only right for you to unlock specific perks for specializing in a certain skill sets. (Sounds really awesome finally I'll have a lvl 30 character that isn't a carbon copy of all my other FO3 Characters) :tops:

You guys misunderstood me. When did i say that old guns are weak?

EDIT: I said that Cowboy type weapons will be affected by the perk, not weak, cuz Sawyer said something about "low level guns" being affected with the Cowboy perk. To me low level means weak. I was just making sure what he meant.

Yep. I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll finally be able to make a character that will end up with his/her own flavor and personality. Fingers crossed!

Can't wait to see the different ways to repair things.

I'm hope barter has some perks like slave trading or something. Or allowing you to sell any item to any vendor.

This is of course they worked on the vendors a bit and made them a bit more believable, I hope we can't trade weapons to a doctor and ammunition to a foodstore.
