Cannibalism?

Post » Thu Jan 27, 2011 7:26 am

I was wondering seeing as you require food in a wasteland if you could be given the option to um… eat your victims seeing as it would be a realistic possibility in the fallout world. What repercussions could you get from doing this? Just an Idea…

this is all theoretical I do not in anyway support eating your next door neighbor unless shes into it... then by all means.

That seems like an easy way to keep the hunger monster from killing you.

"Wow! I'm starving... Oh look, a raider. NOM NOM NOM NOM!"

Yeah, there is a perk for that (just like in FO3) because I've seen somewhere a "Bodies Eaten - 0" stat

FO3 had the reprocussion of Karma loss and people freaking out if you got caught doing it. Then there was the quest option to make it into vampirism of a fashion.

Yes they will let you eat people, and yes there will be negative reprocussions for it. But you aren't hungry ;)

I don't see why you'd need a perk to eat human flesh, you can eat molerat meat without a perk so why not human meat? The same should apply to ESV, all organisms should drop consumable meat IMO.

If you do it often, I would like to see physical reprecussions. Kuru (the shakes), or a increase in contracted diseases or loss of any poison immunity. Would make it a hard choice. Game wise, could affect your aim or agility stat.

Oh good, I have not seen that yet, I too was wondering about this. Pretty much all my not so nice characters in fallout 3 have been cannibals.

It could be like chems, you can get addicted to human flesh if you eat too much of it.

I wonder if it will come back as a perk or even as a trait. I think it would be one of those perks you can get ahold of once you level your survival skill a bit.

If there is cannibalism (as a perk or otherwise), I hope they make it actually worth picking/using this time around, instead of a mere curiosity feature.

I think we should just be able to eat people from the start. In reality, you wouldn't need to have certain skills to kill a person and eat them, besides having the skill to kill them.

hardcoe mode, you have to eat, it's a very very very useful perk for hardcoe mode.

Cannibalism should be in the game it was in FO3. I just hope it's not a perk. It would be great if we could just eat a person like we can take meat from animals. With the reputation system back I hope there is a Title that comes from being caught eating people something like Cannibal. Nice and simple :D.

If their is a cannibalism perk I hope you can leave bloody bones as evidence of your evil deed. Unlike FO3 where you apparently ate the WHOLE entire body raw, bones guts and all. That's alot of meat.

I respectfully disagree with any positive rewards in game for cannibalism. I think that there is nothing good about cannibalism, except in life or death situations, it should always be a desperate thing, however I do take the point that some people want to role-play a flesh eating ghoulish charter, all I’m saying is that if one chooses to do so the consequences should be pretty severe (on a side note if they could come up with a scenario maybe part of a quest where the player has to try to make a choice of who to save/eat not eat ect it would be interesting. oh and I do agree it should not be a perk however I could see it as trait one gains for partaking in the forbidden oh so good must eat brains, oh sorry where was I oh yes cannibalism is bad um’k

I hope with a decent Survival skill you can actually get some bloody hit points out of eating people this go round! In Fallout 3 it was a novelty and little more. Same with Mr. Sandman. I thought Fallout 3 would be like Oblivion, and when you'd go into a "dungeon" you'd encounter sleeping raiders or what have you with some kind of frequency. This was not the case. Here's hoping Mr. Sandman and Cannibalism are worth a damn in New Vegas, I want to silent kill / silent snack on as many dirtbags as possible.

Oh I agree with you, desperate act with consequences and all. All I am asking is that it would have it's uses, that there would be situations in which I would actually feel the need to have it and feel rewarded (even with the consequences) by picking it. If its effect is only "Cool! I just took a bite out of her ass!" I think it's useless.

My cousin is a big fan of the cannibal perk. We share a dark sense of humor when playing the game.

I think it's awesome for RPers. Maybe this time though it'll be a trait instead of a perk. I dunno.

In FO3 i always wanted 3 dog to say something if you ate like 50+ bodies or something. Another with that sandman perk... I really wanted to kill enclave with it but instead all it was good for was silently killing everyone in Megaton,Tenpenny tower and Rivet City :|

Well I don't see why not. If you want to eat dead people, that's your weird thing.

A good Consequence would be a title. If you get caught enough times you're reputation as a cannibal spreads throughout the wasteland. Some people could think that's cool and others naturaly think you're a sick person.

(Besides town reputations, the character can be endowed with various reputation perks. Some of these are have a negative effect.)

It would svck if it's a perk we should just be able to do it.
