So i had new vegas running perfectly and then it went nuts..... I've tried uninstalling reinstalling downloading everything the game will not run it simply brings up the launcher and when i hit Play Game nothing happens.... here is my DXdiag Bethesda has been useless and not emailed me back yet and its been 3 days

Although the Radeon onboard video chip you have is as good as that category of graphics solution can be, it isn't good enough, and it cannot be upgraded. Laptops are a dead end for GPUs and CPUs. No upgrades for those parts can be performed on them, and an actual, discrete, add-on video circuit board with its own dedicated VRAM is a requirement. The Radeon 4200 chipset allows for dedicated VRAM to be built into the mainboard separately from the main RAM, however, I am unaware of any models of laptops featuring that.

If you can drop your resolution to a low setting, you can probably play the game some, but if it were me, I wouldn't enjoy the results.

I really resent the fact that people who are able to get the game to run are posting that it is the user's fault when it is most likely not the case. I have the exact same problem, on a relatively clean Win7 x64 install- right after the Bethesda title screen the game crashes every time. I've tried everything to no avail.
If you have a helpful suggestion then fine, but I doubt "lowering the resolution" is going to fix a CTD, regardless of what GPU his PC is running. It's a common problem and a frustrating one for those of us who can't get the game to run at all. Returning it is not an option because the game is linked permanently to your
Steam account, so it's yours forever whether it runs or not. Every single other game I have runs no problem, so clearly there is no problem except for New Vegas.
