Is there any word of this corrupt save file bugg being patched at all... ?

The chances of them being able to reverse-engineer a fix that will "uncorrupt" save files is close to zero. If you are sitting around waiting for them to fix your save files, instead of going back to an earlier save file that loads and avoiding the issue, then you are waiting on a pipe dream.

They will eventually patch the issue that is creating the corrupt save files, but "uncorrupting" an existing save file is a whole different animal.

No point in going back to an earlier save because I did, went nowhere near the affected areas and I still now have my last 5 hard saves that just CTD, so I am sitting around waiting for a fix so I can actually play the game.

Stop screwing around with computer games and go make more episode of NCIS, Mark Harmon.
