For the Republic, Part II and the Great Khans

It seems that if you've already gotten good relations and canceled the alliance between the Khans and Legion in Oh My Papa, your only freakin' option for For The Republic is to kill them all ><

I even tried just killed Papa Khan in stealth and making Regis the leader, but he has even LESS dialogue options; with the only choice being "goodbye" at that point.

Oh, and when I killed Papa, it also failed "Why Can't We Be Friends" but all the guides I found for that quest don't even mention Papa Khan being a part of it.

I'm in the exact same position right now, ugh. I finished "Oh My Papa" before I started "For the Republic". What's even worse is that I even convinced Papa Khan to take the fight against the Legion anyway (and the Legion representative recognised this fact when he came and talked to me to give me the Legion endgame quest line)! And yeah, I tried killing Papa as well, but Regis lost ALL his dialogue options then.

Regarding the "Why Can't We Be Friends" quest, if you side with Cooke and clear out the geckos, you then have to go talk to Papa. So yes, he is involved in the quest.

Concerning this; I am fiddling with the console to just finish the quest in the manner I had original anticipated, but the SetObjectiveComplete command isn't working, either :/

I get no errors, it just doesn't actually change the objective status. This pisses me off somethin' fierce.

Edit: And ResetQuest just disables it completely. WTF?!

Ok, if you're willing to use the console (note: will disable Steam achievements, I didn't get the one for "you'll know it when it happens" after doing this), I figured out how to get past this.

First, "resetquest 00140C3A" to reset "Oh My Papa".

After that, I tried to complete it again, but Melissa vanishes, so I thought I was stuck. But. Then I realised...

Second, while "Oh My Papa" is sitting uncompleted in your quest log (go and restart it), sneak into Papa's bedroom at night and murder him in his sleep (personally I lockpicked in and used a steathboy + ratslayer headshot to do it. If you use a loud weapon the guards will hear). After that, Regis was like "oh well no choice but to side with NCR lol".

So, that option only exists if you HAVEN'T finished "Oh My Papa", if you do then Regis will never take control of the tribe. But if you do it during the quest, he assumes control, letting you continue with the game.

Personally it's completely NOT how I would want to have done it, but frankly I'm sick of being stuck because of sloppy quest design...
