Pre-Release Reviews?

Post » Sun Dec 19, 2010 10:59 am

Will there be reviews for new vegas before it comes out like maybe around a week or do the game reviewing websites (1up, gamespot, ign, etc.) just have to wait till the game is out. Cause if you ask me reviewing a game after it comes out and after you've already bought it is very counterproductive.

Of course im not doubting fnv I just wana see all those 5 *'s and 10/10's. :fallout:

I have no idea, but i doubt there will be. Very few games do that, i think it's a marketing thing. I have speculated that since so much of a games sales are predicated upon hype they don't want to mess with a reviewer that could possibly tarnish the publicity thereby wasting the money they put into it, particularly since Fallout New Vegas is currently number two on IGNs most anticipated releases. This isn't to say i don't think that the game will be excellent, but gamesas has nothing to gain by doing it.

Might have to wait a lil bit after release.

It is a huge 100+ hour game. Though I imagine some might squeeze out a review after 40-60 hours or so.

Im guessing you want an early review for more info on the game, not to sway a buying decision right? IMO NV could get a 1 rating from every mag and website out there and it would still be a day one buy.

I'm always surprised when the game reviews come out before the game.... Most of the titles I'm really eager for, the review doesn't matter, as I'll buy the game without even looking for scores. Dead Rising 2 reviews are already out, maybe the new trend will be reviews a day or two before the release.
