RWD not working?

Post » Tue Jan 04, 2011 8:05 pm

Alright, so I completely downloaded and installed RWD along with the Nellis Artillery fix, and everything looked like it was going according to plan, until I actually started up New Vegas and found out that absolutely nothing had changed. I've tried a few things, such as disabling all .esp's but RWD and loading up my saved game, but when I try that I crash as the game loads my save.

Please help me out guys. I can't handle the unrealistic damage of this game much longer.

First things first: tools. Update and run Boss on your load. That should clear up some difficulties outright. Then, load Bash and rearrange to deal with mod dependencies. Then, load up FNVEdit and look at the RWD mod to see what is affecting it. Based on the current load, it would be overwritten by FOOK.

Now, I'm going to run rampant over your load, so feel free to tl;dr if necessary. XFO-you're using two of the 2A* files - minor issue, simply means the first one is useless. Similar thing with the Classic Pulse grenades, w44Satchels, and the Classic HK L30. URWL and Nevada Skies have joined up-look for the "premade fomod packs" mod for an install script to make it more combined. Your Bash Patch- you'll want to make absolutely sure you're building it right. Safest solution is to just have it merge mergeables, import faces, tweak settings, alias mod names, and deal with leveled lists and race records. Beyond that, if RWD gets overridden by other mods and the Bashed patch can import its stats, you might test that. Of course, Arwen's and XFO 8A also affect the things RWD changes, iirc.

Good luck.

I did everything you said, except for the FNVedit thing, because I'm fairly new to the modding experience and really don't know how to use FNVedit. And yeah, it's still not working. If someone could explain to me what to do with FNVedit, than I may be able to fix this problem.

If FOOK changes weapons and weapons Damage, you've got FOOK loading AFTER RWD, so it's overriding RWD.

I'll need a new load order dump, for starters. As for what you should do either way, launch FNVEdit (it should be in your Fallout: New Vegas folder) and just hit "OK." This will load all the mods you have active in the order the game loads them, and may take a while. Check on the "Messages" window on the right for any warnings that may crop up, or errors due to missing/misloaded masters. When the background loader finishes, it will say so-this is when you actually get to work. The left window, with the list of your mods? Scroll thru it till you find the RWD mods. Click the + next to each one, then do the same for each submenu (stuff like "script" "effect" etc.). If anything pops up in red, click it, then look at it in the right pane. That'll show what is actually going on--what's getting overridden, and by what.
