Post your FPS/Stutter/Slow-Mo fixes.

Seriously, if you've got a nVidia or ATI card, if you've had any of the problems in the title and you're running the game smooth now, or have been for hours, please post what you did here.

It seems that when I mess around every little thing slightly affects performance, but nothing amongst the 15 odd things I've tried has actually stabilized the frame rate to a constant playable game like Fallout 3 was and still is for me on this PC.

Really looking forward to playing this, have been since it was first announced.

Lower the graphics settings? :D

I have an ATI HD4850 512MB and I've dropped AA to 4x (instead of the max, 8x) and turned off V-sync, and it's running quite well. I still get a bit laggy near water areas so maybe I'll see if any water settings could be reduced a bit.

Defragging your hard disk could help too.

only 2 things helped me out of all the fixes ive seen.

"toggleemotions" in console

and settings render ahead limit to "0"

Nvidia card

@ povuholo your only running a 512mb card, that performance difference you got when switching AA settings probably was because it was set too high to begin with, AA is very memory intensive and most likely your card ran out.

I still get dramatic fps drops after a few steps whether the game is on low or high. :(

The only thing I did, as another person wrote on another post, is to take the water multisampling to low... Frame rate rose from 15-30 to 25-60
Great!

Nvidia user here, running about as stable as the engine allows.

1) Dont install lots of random crap on your PC.
2) Use the DLL fix.
3) Try latest video drivers for your graphics card.
4) Update sound drivers too.
5) Disable Steam In-Game Community & Cloud
6) Disable all auto-save features and manually save (a lot)
7) Disable Windows Aero.
8) Dont install any hardware made by Creative Labs.
9) Dont install lots of random crap on your PC.
