I have finally downloaded the patch and also Dead Money and was just wondering if it OK to use the auto-save now. Basically did the patch fix it or does it still cause problems. I have started a new game and just need to know.

Not sure what you're referring to... had you turned auto-saves off as some sort of workaround to the DLC issue? If so, yeah it should be fine.
