Any interior with at last one ammo box, safe or first aid box. Other crates might be also safe but I was not using them. It should be also place with bad, water and near workbenches, trader and fire. I use Victors house in Goodsprings, it had it all. Plus there is doctor and mailbox near.

In Goodsprings, you can also use the Gas Station where you find Ringo. It has a floor safe, as well as a bed and of course the outside vending machine. On the way towards Prim you will run across a Nevada Highway Patrol office ... once cleared it has a bed, slightly irradiated water, and several desks for storage. There is also a room near the Goodsprings graveyard that is located next to a monument. I have not been there so I am not sure what is inside but I've read on this forum it is safe to use.

I've extensively tested Goodsprings - the (2) dumpsters by the general store are excellent choices, and you can drag the crates from around back (which aren't owned) over by the dumpsters for even more storage. Plus, it's right by the Mohave Express box, and the repair bench and ammo reloading bench. With a bed in the trailer to the north. It's just missing a convenient campfire and it would be the ideal low-level home, however so humble. Other players have used Doc Mitchell's house.

(Unlike Oblivion, which is where this fear started, very few containers in Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas respawn. Stuff laying loose on floors is the biggest risk, because the game engine will sometimes decide to garbage collect loose items. Interior cell spawn is handled identical to exterior cell spawn, from what I understand. The difference is that outdoors, you're typically affecting 9 cells at a time instead of the single cell of indoors. Maybe more, depending on how big the active cell radius is around the cell that you're in. So it's easier to control random factors when you're in a little 1-room shack by yourself.)

There's a town on along the south-eastern area of the map - the name escapes me at the moment - but it has a huge T-rex beside a motel. There you can 'rent' a room which requires a key to access for 100(?) caps, and it has several different containers. I rented it and stored a bunch of stuff there. Mostly the cards that I've bought for caravan which have just really become a nuisance to carry around with me.

So far there I've experienced no problems with my stuff being stored there.

Novac has a apartment you can rent, I have only rented it once and never had any problems storing anything there, for over 30 game hours played.

Part of me likes to collect phat loot, but my current guy simply has so much stuff collected its not funny. I just started using the mini gun and I had around 3,500 5MM rounds and about 2,400 5MM AP rounds.

I think I have about 300 .50 MG, 100-150 Incendiary rounds and I made 350 hand loaded match grade, along with all my AP rounds.

Until I started just spraying with my mini gun I had more 5MM than anything else. Won't do me any good to sell it, I have about 50K caps already and only rocked out the Vicki and Vance casino.

I have at least 500-1,000 rounds for any gun, at least one of any normal gun, most if not all of the named energy guns, as well as others.
I have at least two of each factions outfits, one suit of P.A, more nades than the NCR, heck I even got a huge amount of food in the fridge there, I think about 120 gecko steaks and 80 or so Bighorn steaks.

Its nice to collect it, but if you are not going to use it, why keep it? Unless like me you just have so many caps as it is that it wont matter.

places I have safely stored stuff any house in goodsprings (if you side with the powder gangers and wipe out the milita) the dumpsters next to the general store. Nipton any house. Novac the room you rent (the rental never expires) that is just a few oh crates outside the barracks at mohave outpost.

My current plan is to base out of the hotel in Primm, since the ground floor has a ton of storage containers. I will see from there, since I am still scouting out good housing locations.

There is a house in Goodsprings you can use, as well as the gas station, and both have the added bonus of being close to a workbench and reloading bench.

My ideal location will have those and a campfire, since I play in hardcoe mode and use the recipes therefrom to keep my meters low, and I am still scouting out good ones. There are a couple of candidates in Nipton, however that town is a bit too far South for my liking to serve as a base.

I'll probably mod in a few more static containers around the General Store in Goodsprings and add a campfire north behind the trailer. Maybe a few more containers inside the trailer itself.

(Still kind of waiting on a FNV version of FOMM.)

I've decided to use Victor's house in Goodsprings, as there's the crafting benches by the shop and the campfires close by, but if anyone else knows about a safehouse with a campfire closer by, could you let me know? I may have missed it, but I couldn't see any around Novac and of course none by any of the casino rooms you can get.

There is an abandoned shack between Goodsprings and the Yangtze Memorial (hard to miss, look for the giant cross in the middle of the landscape). It has two containers inside (ammo box and first aid kit), a bed, and I'm pretty sure there is a workbench in there as well. I used this as my home until I moved into the Lucky 38. The only downside was at lower levels, when the Giant Radscorpions that frequented the area made it a pain in the butt to get in and out.
