Furniture and decor

Is there a way to furnish your 'home'?

I remember in Fallout3 you could move items around - say move the sofa to the other side of the room. Do I remember this correctly? Is there a way to do this in New Vegas?

I would love to be able to make a "real home" where I can decorate with items I find or can get.

Also - WHY can't you paint the walls? There are paintguns all over the place. Why can't you change the fabric on the chair? Breaking down an existing chair for the materials?

I GET the Look of this game - BUT isn't it human nature to want to fix things up? To repair the floor or paint the walls or move the sofa?

Is there a mod that does this? Or a way to move the existing items withing a location (motel room or abandonded shack? What am I missing?

Thanks!

No you can't. O.o

You can pick up/move clutter and dropped gear, but you can't move the furniture around. Unless you mean like how you can buy new themes that decorate your house.

The Lucky 38 Suite has a terminal in it that allows it to be upgraded with stuff (mostly just storage options). But no, you can not move the beds/couches/tables/etc.

Thanks for the reply!

I guess maybe I was thinking of the Theme's from Fallout 3?

I wish there was a way to move things around or paint the walls lol - Make it more "mine".....

Actually, there was a PC mod that allowed you to add, position, shrink and lock items anywhere in the game and most used it to personalize their home base. You couldn't actually move items that were perminently placed in the editor, but you could use items you could pick up to make some interesting decorating changes.

I found it: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11532

Thanks Grimm - I do find it interesting that so many of the first threads on the forums were about HOME or a place to have as a home. But that the game didn't add a feature where you could create a Nice Home or move stuff around OR buy items for your home.

Appreciate the feedback and replies! Thanks again.
