Has it been confirmed that the vault 13 canteen is the only

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 9:26 pm

Well has it, it just seems like an essential item for hardcoe mode like that would exist elsewhere, sure I get that pre-order weapons and armor are unique but the binoculars aren't neither are the spears and the poisons and the super stimpacks and the doctors bags, Sorry but this question has been bugging me. It wouldn't have to be V13 specific if it is elsewhere, just battered and weather worn.

No, it's confirmed that the Vault 13 canteen is a unique canteen- as compared to all the other in-game canteens that will be in there to fill the need of hardcoe players to carry some amount of water with them.

If I remember correctly, it is the only seperate canteen, the other 'canteens' ingame are part of armour sets. Although I admit that I could be misremembering what i read.

it has been said some armours have built in canteen, the vault 13 is suppose to be unique in the sense that it′s a item you carry...thus can be used whatever armour you wear.

So this might mean stacking up on armors to carry more water...

Then again armors are heavy.

Also isn't the V13 canteen the 'flask' you get in FO2. A hint that these might actually be the relics of the Vault dweller and Chosen One.

eh since the canteen is suppose to be something yo slip from your belt or such, it can be assume that the one worn armour gives that effect

I would have bought the canteen if it came with a little green LED mounted inside, near the base of the canteen's neck that would come on whenever the lid was removed and as long as it was full of water. That would have presented a nice green-glowing water that would both remind me of the wasteland and terrify my work teammates at the same time. :disguise:

Well I mean you can still carry armors around and just switch them on when one runs out.

They were in F1 too, but they were just standard v13 canteens and not 'Holy Relics'

If fallout was real life and I did that I would probably end up with all the water coming out of my nose, just seeing peoples reactions go from <_< to :shocking:

I don′t think the canteen works like say a bottle of water did in Fallout3, instead canteens gives you a "buff" that slows dehydration, represented by your character taking a sip from time to time.

so I don′t think canteens "run out"

lol definitely! And for the bosses a special touch - drop a soda tablet or similar fizzler into the canteen and walk in drinking glowing, foaming green water to a meeting. :lmao:

It's confirmed it's the only canteen with the number 13 on on.

Gstaff told us a while back that it's the only separate canteen. The other canteens are just attached to armor as has been mentioned. However this could mean they're function canteens or just eyecandy. We'll have to wait and see.

well in a way both, if you play normal mode there basicly eye candy since you don′t have to care for water, if you play hardcoe mode I assume they do have there use.

Built in? Does this lead me to believe armors might actually do more than protect you? o.o Sweet!

OT: I dunno, I haven't heard anything about this really. I have mine pre-ordered from Gamestop, so I'll be getting the canteen and stuff, but I would think that there might be a similar canteen in the Wastes, just not as good as the Vault 13 one.

well they did already back in Fallout 3, don′t see why that trend don′t change.

No canteens do not run out. I know this for sure. Because you can get bottles of water. But i think you should have to fill up the canteen!

frankly in this case I think realism should step aside to keep gameplay smooth, hardcoe mode already adds the need to hunt for water, I don′t we need to add the extra need to hunt for sources to fill our canteen.

I think he means that the canteen refills after every time you have drink from a natural water source.
